General Summary

Your primary mission in this position would be to empower our current staff to perform to the best of their abilities and reach their maximum potential. Essentially you'd be a coach to them. Good coaches change the game, but great coaches change a life. You would lead our team of 9 walkers and engage with our 150+ clients while working directly with the owner and business manager to ensure the company runs smoothly. You’d be a part of our management triad. It is our primary focus to find someone with the skills for this position who believes in that line.



  • Walk with each member of the staff in consistent rotations.

  • Must own a SUV/van/wagon/truck with bed-cover. No exception, unless you buy one.

In this role, you will meet personally with dog owners at their homes or virtually by videoconference to teach tactics and habits for positive life-long communication.

Candidates should have expert skills in recognizing and reshaping behavior patterns of all kinds, in the dogs AND in their owners, and bring a "train the owner" philosophy to every client interaction.

Must demonstrate strong communication, teaching, and facilitation skills to guide and mentor the humans in the training relationship with their dog(s). Proven track record of working in client homes with singles, couples and families with children and teenagers.

Current certification required or on pace to achieve certification in 2020. 


  • Meet with dogs and owners for 1-on-1 personalized private 50-minute work sessions.

  • Expert at teaching basic puppy obedience and socialization, (plus, but not required to be AKC certified for S.T.A.R.)

  • Expert at adolescent / intermediate obedience training for dogs and their owners

  • Some experience in pack management and pack training techniques for households with 2+ dogs

  • Some experience in adult rescue dog behavior support and adult dog home/pack introductions and "re-training" to replace long-ingrained bad habits with routines

  • Advocate for owners to establish sound daily habits of training, physical exercise, socialization, and mental play/stimulation for their dogs

  • 2-10 hours per week. Working hours vary as needed by clients, who prefer late afternoons, evenings and weekends.

  • This is a part-time W-2 employee position.

  • Hourly wage based on experience, $50-70 / hour.

 The Doggie Daycare Attendant is responsible for the supervision, control and management of daycare dogs and ensuring the safety of the playgroup. Employee is also responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the playrooms as well as other areas of the facility as assigned.

1. Dog Management

    • Interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play and minimizing stress levels of all dogs in playgroup.

    • Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and spread attention and play among all dogs in playgroup.

    • Control level of play by following dog management and control procedures and instructions provided by management.

    • Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.

    • Use proper dog introduction procedures.

    • Use appropriate praise and dog correction methods.

    • Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request assistance from other staff or management.

    • Watch all new dogs carefully and immediately consult with management if you have concerns.

    • For all dogs in playgroup, report any unusual behavior, or eliminations and injuries to management immediately.

    • Maintain playroom as instructed per the posted checklist.

    • Ensure that all staff that relieve you for break or shift change know all dogs in group, the special needs dog status and any unusual behaviors or concerns you have been managing during your shift.

    • Keep a working 2 way radio at all times when managing dogs. Request back-up coverage prior to leaving the playgroup floor.

    • Complete dog incident reports timely when required. If you are not sure whether a report is required check with management.

2. Cleaning Duties

    • Complete general cleaning duties as posted or assigned

    • Scoop dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed

    • Mop up accidents immediately

    • Dust mopping/wet mopping floors as assigned.

    • Removing trash from containers

    • Disinfect playgroup area

    • Changing/Laundering sheets

    • Cleaning water bowls, kongs, and other toys

3. Office Duties

    • Greeting customers and bringing dogs into playroom

    • Handling payments

    • Tracking dog attendance as needed

    • Answering phones as needed
