VESPERTINE, located in the Hayden Tract district of Culver City, is the project from Chef Jordan Kahn (Red Medicine, Destroyer).

VESPERTINE is a gastronomical experiment seeking to disrupt the course of the modern restaurant. A perceptual and cognitive experience, where deliciousness is driven by form and texture is crafted into sculpture. Blurring interrelationships between materials and ideas, environment and context, of sound and dissonance.

The project was conceived as a result of the building in which it resides: the architectural phenomenon known as "The Waffle." Designed by world-renowned architect Eric Owen Moss, The Waffle is a two-story structure, separated into four levels of which there are no traditional walls supporting the building. Instead, the building is wrapped by an architectural skin -- a curtain of undulating steel and glass. The intimate, 22-seat dining room sets the stage for an enigmatic dining experience. The menu is comprised of a succession of 20+ courses.

VESPERTINE is looking for a curious, infectiously positive, intelligent and gracious individual to join our team as a DISHWASHER.

  • Helps with overall food prep for lunch and dinner

  • Learns healthy cooking techniques and adheres to the designated cooking methods to ensure all menu items are consistently presented for maximum nutrition and flavor

  • Strives to improve cooking skills and expands knowledge about food products and techniques

  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, fridges and freezers as well as all storage areas

 The Los Angeles Athletic Club located in Downtown Los Angeles, is a unique, historic, and remarkable property. We are seeking a Full-Time Dishwasher. Candidates with an open schedule are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of the dish washing machine.

  • Wash dishes according to recommended procedure.

  • Remove clean dishes and glassware and store at assigned location

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

  • Other responsibilities

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Desired: High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Specific knowledge of general sanitation practices.

  • Must be able to speak and understand primary languages used in the workplace.

  • Must be dependable and hard working.

  • Must be able to take and follow directions from the Chef and other supervisors.

  • Must be able to get along with fellow employees.

  • Must be aware of safety, organization and sanitation and stand for long periods of time.

  • Entry level. No experience required.
