POSITION PURPOSE

The Distribution Assistant issues food boxes to participants during monthly Supplemental Food Program (SFP) distributions. This program provides supplemental groceries to eligible seniors.

9am to 1:00pm (possibly until 2:30pm) for 2 to 5 days a week

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES


  • Issue food boxes to participants at distributions.

  • Provide excellent customer service to program participants.

  • Set up, maintain, and break down boxes in distribution area

  • Use material handling equipment (hand trucks, hand pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner to perform duties.

  • Assist dissatisfied participants.

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Basic arithmetic to maintain accurate transactions.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to work and interact well with individuals from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.

  • Ability to repetitively lift food boxes ranging from 30 lbs. to 40 lbs. as needed during distribution hours ranging from 4 hours to 7 hours.

Currently seeking a dynamic, driven individual to lead all areas of our transportation safety programs. The safety director will lead and oversee all Health, Safety and DOT compliance issues for Federal and State Trucking regulations. In addition, the position will be responsible for directing the company’s DOT Alcohol and Drug Free Workplace requirements for all covered transport drivers.


Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Ensure all Drivers are in compliance and up to date for Licenses and medical certifications.

  • Maintain and keep up-to-date the Security Plan for all locations.

  • Ensures all fleet are in compliance with all DOT regulations including Maintenance, Safety, Hazardous Materials.

  • Manage the DOT profile on a weekly basis ensuring accuracy and in satisfactory or better standing. Dispute all errors and incorrect violations.

  • Facilitate and record Safety training.

  • Conduct safety, DOT and HM briefings with drivers

  • Maintain DOT driver files on all Drivers

  • Serve as primary contact spokesperson between terminal staff and DOT officials.

  • Conduct investigations on all commercial vehicle crashes for infraction of company policy, maintain records, report all accidents with findings.

  • Work with Operations Personnel to implement and manage a proactive, behavior-based approach to Health & Safety, with a strong emphasis on Personal Responsibility, Incident Prevention, & a Management Systems approach to compliance.

  • Ensure the organization is OSHA compliant for all employees.

  • Maintain, communicate and provide Leadership for the Emergency action plan.

Required Skills: 


  • Minimum of 2 years’ direct experience directing DOT, Health & Safety trucking regulatory compliance & risk management programs.

  • B.S. in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, or related Science Discipline is preferred; equivalent experience is accepted as well

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State DOT, Health & Safety trucking regulations, especially the DOT’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and administration

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication for Operations and Management to interactions and meetings with a variety of Federal and State stakeholders.

  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software.

  • Strong attention to detail, and taking action to meet compliance regulations.

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to balance compliance regulations with business priorities.

  • Certified in Motor Carrier Safety Compliance.

Fleet Maintenance Manager


Purpose: Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on trucks in a safe, efficient, and quality minded manner. 


Job Responsibilities: 



  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles in the fleet

  • Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner

  • Perform inspections of vehicles as required by Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR). Perform preventive maintenance inspections as required and specified by vehicle manufacturers and department standards. 

  • Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program to provide maintenance by manufacturers specifications. 

  • Maintains a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc. 

  • replaces parts; repairs parts; repairs electrical systems; diagnoses vehicles for minor body and fender work; performs tune ups and engine overhauls; troubleshoots problems when needed. 

  • Examines reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment repaired; writes reports on vehicles and equipment repaired for monthly maintenance reports.

  • Keeps maintenance and repair records; performs preventive maintenance on all departmental vehicles; orders repair parts. 

  • Schedule and arrange for outsourcing of repairs if necessary. 

  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience 


  • Graduation from High School plus course work in auto and equipment mechanics at a trade school and six (6) years experience as a mechanic, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 



  • Knowledge of methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement. 

  • Considerable knowledge of safety practices and techniques in mechanics; considerable knowledge of diesel and gas engine mechanics; considerable knowledge of vehicle make-up. 

  • Ability to function and perform effectively as a manager and supervisor. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment with accuracy and speed; ability to create effective working relationships with employees. 

  • Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports and maintain accurate records. 

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
