Responsibilities

Qualifications


  • Minimum 4 years as a department manager.

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of all grocery items is required.

  • Personable, outgoing and enthusiastic about interacting with diverse guests.

  • Passionate about grocery work and exceptional product delivery.

· Downloads and provides weekly HACCP reports from Rational units using Rational standard operating procedures


· Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the department, including providing direction to direct reports on company approved sanitation guidelines and address any issues that need to be immediately resolved


· Accompanies and pro-actively works with Health Department Inspectors and third party audits to ensure superior department cleanliness scores. This position is required to accompany the inspector during their walk, for the entirety of their walk, and must be on hand to answer any questions as well as immediately address any concerns.



  • Maintain a neat and well- groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress code policy

  • Prepare/Cook food, stock and rotate product in display case, Coolers and Freezers, unload deliveries. Operate and clean all equipment and tools

  • Cleans and organizes kitchen area as well as coolers and walk in freezers

  • Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise and take stock to storage or shelf areas including Coolers and Freezers

  • Keep Manager or other designated personnel informed of low inventory conditions or spoilage problems

SUMMARY

Prepare products for sale and assist customers in making purchases from the deli department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  1. Ensure that the customer service 10’rule policy is enforced throughout the department and the store.


  2. Provide each customer excellent customer service by greeting them, smiling, assisting them while up selling for additional sales and


  3. Knowledgeable in using deli equipment including slicer, scale, wrapper, cash register, fryer, and rotisserie.

  4. Familiar with opening/closing duties of the department.


  5. Fills meat/cheese and floor displays as needed. Prepares salads and other items directed by the supervisor.

  6. Responsible for good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the department.

  7. Must be able to use the intercom for suggestive selling.

  8. Knowledgeable with the cash register and is accountable for over/shorts.

  9. Helps in bakery and salad bar, as needed.

  10. Meets productivity standards within the department and in helping customers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to run cash register and give correct change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Transport bag rolls and twist ties to display areas and place in racks.
• Constantly inspect floors for debris and water.
• Assist with produce ordering and inventories as requested.
• Perform temperature checks twice daily.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming policy as defined within company policy.
