This full time position is for our Infant teacher

A little bit about us and the position: At Knowledge Tree Children's Academy, we believe that every child is a born artist, scientist, inventor, constructor and explorer, and we are here to help them express and develop these interests. Our philosophy is that every child is an active constructor of their own knowledge and we create an environment where this construction is both fun and engaging for every child.

To support our teachers, we set up lower than licensing ratio in each classroom. Max. of 2 to 20 in the preschool class, 3 to 16 in the toddler option class and 2.5 to 8 in the infant class. We create an enriched environment by generously supporting teachers with toys, books and supplies. In addition, we know that many teachers often buy supplies using their personal money so we give each class a monthly allowance for disposable art supplies. We hired an onsite curriculum coordinator who supports teachers with curriculum planning and classroom preparation.

Our environment:

We are proud to say that we are one of the most beautiful and unique child care facilities you ever seen. We believe that children learn from the environment they live and learn, so a homelike, pleasant, clean and organized place will stimulate their learning.

Our Curriculum:

We adapted our successful story curriculum as the core curriculum and integrated diverse cultures, additional resource classrooms and second languages into the program. We have two special activity rooms that you cannot find anywhere else: Children’s Art Studio and Children’s Multi-cultural Kitchen. Children will use them for weekly special art and cooking projects.

Our story-based curriculum is a distinct learning method that engages children with topics that they are interested in and enthusiastic about. Reading interesting stories triggers a child’s curiosity to ask questions. In order to find answers to these questions, children actively desire to read, to sense, to experience and to explore. They also spontaneously utilize their language, drawing, writing, body language and creativity to present their “project research results.” In the meantime, children will be driven to new questions that they are interested in, which leads to new projects of learning and exploration. Therefore, finding answers to questions is the process of self-challenging, self-accomplishing and learning for the children.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with co-teachers to lead and plan curriculum activities that stimulate children interest and ability following Knowledge Tree requirements.

• Maintain a well-organized and clean classroom by continually restoring and enhancing the environment suitable for children.

• Participate in need and service meetings, parent/teacher conferences.

• Participate in staff meeting and professional development training.

• Provide daily intake to children, comments and close communication with parents.

• Maintain records on each child’s progress and development for planning and evaluation.

• Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing center standards.

• Be flexible to work in other classrooms and other schedules when needed

Qualifications and Skills

• 12 Core ECE Units completed or 6 ECE units completed and enrolled in other 6 units

• We prefer 1 or more years of experience working in a child care center

• Be able to lift at least 40 lb weight

• Team Player

• Be able to Provide Health report and TB clearance.

• Have current certification in pediatric first aid, CPR or willing to obtain

• Open-minded for new challenges and learning

• Clean and organized

Delightful Toddler Boy for Career Nanny

Oakland, CA (San Leandro border)

Pay: $23-$25, DOE

40 hours guaranteed hours

Start date: January 2nd (can wait until January 10th for the right fit)

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

  • Flexibility required! Must have ability to start as early as 7 AM and end as late as 7 PM on occasion

  • 40+ hours per week

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a truly wonderful family! Mom and dad are a great team, and are laid back naturals at parenting. They’re looking for a nanny who sees this work as a passion and career choice, and not just a job.
Toddler boy is 20 months old, and loves to get out and about to parks, libraries, Lake Chabot, the zoo, music classes, the farmers' market, and so on. He’s a real sweetie!
Around household support, they would love for nanny to take care of baby's laundry, meals and tidying. Additionally, nanny should be comfortable running the occasional simple errand, like picking up the drycleaning. They have a house cleaner who comes once a week.
They have a sweet older dog, so a dog lover is preferred! Dog walking is not expected, but if nanny enjoys taking the dog out, that would be great!
Mom works from home full time, but travels a few days every couple of months. During her travel time, nanny must be available to work 7 AM to 7 PM, with overtime pay. On occasion mom has an early or late call scheduled, so nanny will be required to come at 8 AM or stay until 6 PM on those days. Dad works long hours outside of the home.
Driving is required for this position, and the family has a car for nanny to use.
PLEASE NOTE:WE CANNOT ACCEPT TEXT MESSAGES.
Only inquiries via phone, email or website will be considered.          510.407.0363
Staff get to walk dogs outside and play with dogs in play groups. This is a fun, active, and rewarding job, especially for a dog lover. But it is also a lot of work. It can be loud, it can be stinky, and it can be tiring. But dog lovers know and love these types of challenges. You will be working with a fun group of mostly younger people from a wide variety of backgrounds in a dynamic, fast paced environment - and also with lots of dogs. Reliability is key and will make you our greatest contributor. You may report to people younger than you but will be heard and respected for your experience and contribution. If you are a personable, reliable, and honest dog lover with dog care experience and a flexible schedule, then this is the perfect job for you. Interested candidates should reply to this posting with a resume, 2 professional references, current phone number where you can be reached and indicate the best time to reach you. Please indicate "Playgroup Supervisor" and Your Name in the subject of the email.
