We want experienced and passionate Test Prep Mentors to improve our students’ high school and college entrance exam performances. Test Prep Mentors work students through our programs for either the SAT, ACT, or both. We provide educational training covering the Test Prep programs and ensure that our mentors are well-versed in testing techniques, content, and timing strategies.

 

A successful Test Prep Mentor will show a willingness to help his or her students improve! Additionally, mentors will be familiar with the test landscape and show empathy toward students. An effective mentor will help a student schedule practice for a college entrance exam, hold a student responsible for homework, identify stronger and weaker areas of study, and professionally communicate with the student/client to ensure the most positive outcome. Furthermore, this position provides an opportunity to grow a small business and gain valuable experience working in such an environment.

Test Prep Mentor Responsibilities:

• Adapting New Coda’s testing strategies and techniques and studying our test prep content

• Occasionally understanding further techniques for educating students with learning differences

• Setting appropriate schedules to frame Test Prep performance

• Recording and analyzing student progress and achieved goals

• Connecting students and clients to other resources, such as Academic Mentors, college application resources, etc.

• At times, traveling to students’ homes for meetings

Test Prep Mentor Requirements:

• 4-year degree or equivalent

• Show aptitude for learning New Coda’s test prep procedure

• Investment in the educational process and passion to motivate students to perform

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to build rapport with clients and students

• Strong problem solving skills

TheSummit Learning Teacher Residency  is a one-year program based in the San Francisco Bay Area, during which you are immersed in Summit classrooms four days per week while also completing credentialing coursework leading to a California Single Subject Preliminary Teaching Credential.

In the Summit Learning Teacher Residency, you spend a year learning to:  


  • Engage students in deeper learning projects where they develop skills, apply content knowledge, and integrate the disciplines in authentic performances tasks

  • Empower students as self-directed learners, helping them develop the habits and skills that lead to academic, professional, and personal success

  • Nurture communities of learners by building meaningful relationships that allow students to grow and thrive

  • Connect instructional decisions and students actions to students’ long-term goals and aspirations

Residents in our program are paired with a Cooperating Teacher in a Summit Public Schools site throughout the Bay Area for a full  school year.  Residents gradually work up to independently teaching one class section for the second semester. Residents’ learning experiences and coursework mirror Summit’s personalized learning approach which include engaging in project-based curriculum that is competency-based, self-directed, and student-centered. The Summit Learning Teacher Residency offers:  


  • A comprehensive program that deeply integrates the credentialing coursework with the clinical experience

ABOUT US

The mission of Tiny Techs Club is to encourage creativity in science and technology in children at the elementary and middle school levels using our unique curriculum in Robotics. We use LEGO’s, software, and fun themes to teach children fundamentals in mechanics, building, programming and problem solving.

We are based in the Bay Area, California and have expanded our team to Denver and Portland!


  • Hours are dependent on employee availability, but currently average a fluctuating 15 hours a week with flexibility to your needs.

  • Paid training is provided on a continuous basis.

  • Classes are 2 hours long and generally begin between 1:30 and 3:30 depending on the school.

  • Additional work duties, outside of the classroom, can be done remotely (from home) and include maintaining teaching equipment and preparing for classes. All work hours are tracked and logged by employees.

ABOUT YOU

With exposure to smartphones from their toddler years, kids have a natural interest in computers. To have the ability to harvest that interest and transform it into learning is a huge opportunity.

About the Role: CodeLinkd Instructor

We are looking for a committed part-time instructor to complement our workforce of educators in the discipline of computer science & robotics. Specifically, these instructors will teach coding and robotics courses for kids from ages five to eleven in several community and cultural centers across the South Bay.

We also welcome applications from high school students that are looking for volunteering opportunities in computer science and robotics while assisting our lead instructors in these courses.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate:


  • Should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Should be passionate towards teaching kids with an ability to connect easily with kids and create a relationship of mutual trust. Prior teaching experience or at least experience interacting with kids is a huge plus!

  • Should be able to converse fluently in English

  • Should be familiar with computers well enough to be able to troubleshoot problems during class

  • Possess an understanding of basic coding concepts. A degree in computer science is not mandatory. Every CodeLinkd instructor will undergo training in order for them to get familiar with the course curriculum and concepts that will be taught in different courses.

  • Should be available during CodeLinkd class hours. CodeLinkd classes currently happen during after-school hours on weekdays and for a few hours on weekends.

  • Should be able to commute via their own mode of transport to different locations across the South Bay (such as Saratoga, Los Gatos, and San Jose)

  • Should be willing to undergo a test for tuberculosis and live scan. Most community and cultural centers require instructors to undergo both tests. CodeLinkd will reimburse any costs involved.

  • Should have strong moral values and discipline

  • Should possess valid work authorization - U.S. Citizen, Permanent Residence / Green Card, or H4-EAD. CodeLinkd does not currently offer sponsorship of visas.

Their responsibilities include:


  • Maintaining a tidy and orderly classroom

  • Presenting classes in a simple, straight forward, and comprehensive manner using visual/audio means that is easily understandable by kids

  • Leading courses independently. Several training opportunities and guidance will be provided to the candidate before taking on courses.

  • Making modifications to the standard curriculum as needed

  • Stimulating impromptu discussions and unplugged exercises during the class and ensuring student engagement

  • Tracking and Recording progress of each kid

  • Setting the pace of each class based upon kids' performances

  • Creating a relationship with kids' parents and interacting with them to collect and provide feedback

  • Creating and distributing content including notes for parents with a summary of class, screen capture of kids' projects, photos and videos taken during classes

The Bilingual Digital Literacy Instructor will be energetic and enthusiastic about providing quality digital literacy training to our learners and collaborating with team members to develop and improve digital literacy programs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver Digital Literacy Training 


  • Complete and document in-person assessments of Russian-speaking individuals to determine computer skills and training needs. 

  • Follow established curriculum to provide small group training in Russian to help older adults learn and practice basic computer skills and using the Internet. 

  • Provide 1-on-1 assistance in Russian for older adult students to practice and improve use of technology and the Internet 

  • Complete post-training assessment to confirm basic computer skill was achieved.   

Community Support · Assist Program Manager in the orientation of new volunteers. 


  • Act as CTN Representative and liaison within the Russian-speaking populations of  El Bethel Terrace Apartments and Curry Senior Center.   

Service Delivery Coordination · Support evaluation efforts related to programs  


  • Attend planning meetings to assist with coordination of service delivery   

Data Management & Reporting 


  • Ensure that all setup/breakdown and instruction hours are reported for each shift

Description

Under the supervision of the Program Director, and in collaboration with another Early Childhood Clinical Supervisor, this position has the primary responsibility for providing supervision of both licensed and unlicensed mental health clinicians . The clinicians will primarily be working in the Early Childhood and Prevention program (0-5). Mental health services include: trauma-informed care, developmentally appropriate/sensitive assessments; development of a family centered treatment plan; providing developmentally appropriate mental health treatment; coordination of care with child welfare workers, parents, foster parents, medical home, and other collaterals; maintaining a written record of treatment, including initial assessments and treatment plans. Supervision responsibilities include: direct oversight of mental health clinicians’ work; reviewing clinicians’ notes, assessments and treatment plans to ensure compliance with MediCal requirements; providing guidance and assistance with the treatment of clients; weekly individual and group supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

Individual and group supervision of mental health clinicians.

Oversight of clinicians’ administrative duties in order to meet MediCal requirements including meeting required deadlines.

Oversight of clinicians’ clinical work.

Oversight of evaluation process of employees.

Training and clinician development, evaluation supervisees competencies and supporting their clinical development

Program develop for B-5 team, working with clinical team to identify and obtain qualify training in Early childhood model

Assist clinicians in meeting A Better Way standards, including billing.

Occasional direct client care for children and their families.

Attend appropriate meetings, which include weekly group supervision, staff meetings, trainings and supervision.

Follows all procedures and protocols related to EPSDT (Mental health component of program).

Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing duties.

Abide by all provisions of the A Better Way personnel manual.

Perform any other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited school preferred (LCSW from accredited school of social work, strongly desired)

An understanding of working with Child Welfare involved families and using a variety of clinical methods and approaches

Expertise in Birth-5/ Early Childhood model, required

Certification and ability to supervise in Child Parent Psychotherapy model preferred

Must be licensed with BBS and eligible to supervise

Excellent clinical and writing skills.

Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populations.

Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Understanding of basic theoretical and developmental principles of trauma and community-based mental health.

Supervisory experience, desired

Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships.

Understanding DSM and the development/writing of family focused treatment plans.

Ability to work independently and to work as a member of a team.

Excellent organizational, computer and communication skills.

The after-school program, known as The Neighborhood, is open to Presidio Hill School students (TK-8th grade) from dismissal (between 2:45 and 3:30pm - staggered dismissal time) until 6pm. We seek to create a safe and fun space where the students can spend their afternoons engaged in free play, social growth, academic time, and enrichment opportunities (such as cooking, arts & crafts, group games, etc). We’re seeking someone to join a team of 4, a director and three teachers, who make up the after-school staff. General work hours would be approximately 2:30-6pm primarily with grades 3-8. In addition, there are some mandatory all day camp and evening childcare responsibilities in which you will be scheduled for longer shifts (generally 10-6pm). 

Primary Responsibilities  

~Supervise students in grades TK-8 in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.

~Develop positive relationships with the students and serve as a role model.

~Demonstrate a commitment to multicultural education and guidelines.

During the Neighborhood Program:  

~Assist grades 3-8 with homework during daily academic time. 

~Plan fun games, activities and projects that encompass the arts, science, cooking and recreation.

Coloma Outdoor Discovery School (CODS) has been providing a variety of outdoor education programs since 1990. Our residential program offers public and private school students a 1-4 day experience in California Gold Rush History, Science, and Ropes Challenge Programs. Our campus is located on the banks of the South Fork of the American River in the town of Coloma, California. The daytime naturalist position is available seasonally—from January thru May, and September thru November—with the option to return the following season.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Educating, supervising, and empowering students enrolled in the any of our programs.

Their main role will be providing direct service to CLLA participants, leading youth in recreational and enrichment activities and supporting youth with homework in an afterschool setting. The CLLA Specialist will be responsible for one of Five Focus Areas: Civic Engagement; College & Career Readiness; Nature Connection; Academic Success; and Holistic Health. The CLLA Specialist will curate lessons and activities for their focus area that are developmentally-appropriate, adhere to Youth Development principles and practices, and support the objectives of CLLA. The CLLA Specialist will also support their colleagues in preparing to implement lessons and activities. The CLLA Specialist will work closely with the CLLA Coordinator on lesson planning and implementation.

The top priority of the program is to teach the participants viable skills through using a youth development philosophy in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities. Since all employees working at a facility where minors are present are considered to have a supervisory or disciplinary relationship over minors, the CLLA Specialist will strive to be a positive role model to youth within the philosophy of YMCA standards and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

● Minimum 18 years old

The onsite hours are between noon and 6pm, Monday through Friday; there is also some administrative work, which may be done remotely or from our learning center on Sacramento. We are looking for someone to make a minimum commitment through June 15th, 2020.

Summary of the role:

The Studio Manager is responsible for managing the day to day staff, students, teachers, and classes. The studio manager plays a key role in leading the studio to high performance by embodying the company’s key values, leading by example and rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty in order to get the job done. Computer proficiency, collaboration, and mindfulness are a necessity! We value honesty, integrity, creativity, hard work, flexibility, and a joyful spirit.

Technical Skills:


  • MindBody Online Manager Certification

  • Operating systems (Windows and MacOS)

  • Office suites (Microsoft Office, G Suite)

  • Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Spreadsheets, etc.)

  • Communication and collaboration tools (Slack, Skype, etc.)

  • Competent Computer Proficiencies

  • 2+ years in team management

  • Quickly identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems

  • Excellent verbal written and communication skills

Job Duties:


  • Maintain operational flow

  • Drive performance in the company’s Key Performance Indicators

  • Recruit, interview, and train new team members

  • Manage staff

  • Onboarding, payroll, scheduling, safety, inventory, purchasing, supply chain, training

  • Clearly, communicate with partners, the owner, and staff.

Leadership - Support Staff


  • Coordinate and lead weekly, monthly and quarterly staff meetings. Create an agenda for our weekly meeting and assist with scheduling monthly staff meetings.

  • Drive revenue and target goals for the studio (e.g. classes, privates, retail, training/workshop as required.)

  • Collaborate with the founder and staff on studio promotions, class types, teacher feedback, and other events to create relevant programming and marketing.

  • Ensure all compliance and company policies/procedures are executed. Act as an ambassador for company products and services in the community.

  • Other duties required to help the organization meet its goals.

Student Interaction - Customer Experience


  • Provide an outstanding customer experience and help reduce attrition and increase retention through active interactions as appropriate and through leading by example.

  • Actively support students and direct staff to do the same to finding appropriate classes to meet their personal goals and within schedules, answering their questions (or find the answers to questions if not known), always offering support and guidance.

  • Check students into class/workshop/etc through MindyBody Online when needed, completing all paperwork/forms as appropriate.

  • Oversee all billing issues (contracts, cancellations, freezes, failed credit cards, etc)

  • Welcome and nurture all visitors according to our Customer Experience models; manage staff, answer telephone and emails promptly and courteously.

  • Manage day to day facility operations such as supply fulfillment/replenishment and retail product replenishment

  • Manage day to day Front Desk Operations such as greeting and signing in customers, answering phone calls and effectively communicating promotions, pricing, offerings, and events.

  • Establish and facilitate regular meetings with the front desk staff, as well as ongoing training.

  • Participate in regular meetings with partners.

  • Interface with visiting speakers and teachers for event logistics, promotion and scheduling purposes.

Sales & Marketing


  • Be knowledgeable about our products/programs, competitive products/programs and pricing to actively promote and market ours.

  • Accountable for generating leads, soliciting referrals and meeting individual monthly sales goals (revenue and units) and helping the team meet its goals for a combined studio goal. Sales include class packs/memberships, retail, and ancillary products as outlined each year.

  • Effectively market and sell our products via telephone, grassroots efforts, in-studio tours, etc.

  • Establish external relationships/partnerships within the community. Develop community events and conduct grassroots marketing efforts to raise awareness and drive traffic to the studio.

Studio Operations


  • Update MindBody Online with teacher subs/class changes promptly.

  • Enter new pricing options, sales, discounts, codes, invoicing, etc. in MindBody Online.

  • New member contracts in MindBody Online.

  • Order of supplies and work with vendors.

  • Keep studio supplied with “special touches” such as fruit for the water and fresh plants/flowers.

  • Oversee studio maintenance and cleaning.
