If you consider yourself a creative, innovative, strategic thinker whose portfolio demonstrates the ability to craft effective, award-winning work; feel passionate about being a creative leader; and know how to make a dirty martini, you might be the person we’re looking for.

You must be a self-motivated, endlessly curious individual who can unearth ideas from your team across a variety of media. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills (without which you are probably in the wrong line of work), and strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Collaborate with Dunn&Co. account teams, clients, creative directors, art directors, cinematographers and designers to concept campaigns, develop brand strategies and write effective, engaging copy for our clients.

  • Be able to lead, manage, and challenge the creative department to produce award-winning, results-oriented work.

  • Have experience creating and managing presentations for client meetings.

  • Intelligently incorporate client and account team feedback, comments and changes while adhering to timelines, due dates and goals without getting all huffy.

  • Willing to work on all assignments, not just the ones that personally excite you. In other words, no divas or crusaders.

Requirements

  • Have ten-plus years’ agency copywriting experience; or ability to effectively lie about said experience.

  • Be able to present, persuade and inspire, starting with your first email to us.

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or have attended ad school) with a concentration in advertising, communications or journalism. Or a high-school dropout with a great portfolio.

  • Be able to articulate project feasibility to account management and clients.

  • Pay strong attention to detail, schedule management, version control and other skills usually not attributed to creative people.

  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment while functioning as a member of a highly collaborative team.

  • Be Nice.

Company Description

We make things. Products. Films. Brands. Social movements. Even those things we affectionately call “Ads.” From classic brochures to complete brand overhauls, everything we create begins with a simple human truth that leads to something aesthetically and emotionally beautiful for humans to engage with – or at least until humanoid robots become the next great consumer class. We dig deep with research and strategic thinking to uncover that single piece of insight that will help consumers understand how your brand can fit into their lives and add meaningful value. We tinker and toil with great attention to detail until the right big idea is born. The kind that can turn everyday consumers into passionate brand advocates. The audience may never see the thought and care that goes into the work, but they will still notice it.

Job Description

Copy matters. We know that, which is why we’re looking for an experienced Senior Bilingual Copywriter who can not only write a compelling headline, but can also tell a great story, in both English and Spanish. If you can do that, and if that story also happens to drive marketing response through the roof, you’re our perfect candidate!

But what about us? Wilen New York is not your typical Long Island agency. We’re a full-service direct marketing shop, focusing primarily on mail, but also developing creative across all marketing channels. Our clientele consists of national brands, and we create content in all forms – from straight, strategic assignments to more typical direct marketing efforts like print, digital, social and broadcast.

Put simply, this is Madison Avenue work minus the Manhattan commute. And because our clients are some of the biggest in their industries, the copy has to be sharp. Conceptual, fresh headlines are paramount, but nothing makes us happier than logical body copy that flows. Assignments often incorporate multiple channels, so being able to write a letter is just as important as being able to pare it down and say it digitally.

Our creative team is all about collaboration. We play well with other departments, and also rely on each other to help meet deadlines and go home on time. “You have two assignments due, and I’m slow today...how can I help?” That’s how we roll. No drama, no egos, just (as corny as it sounds) a family-like team that gets great work done on time and has some fun and laughs while doing it. If this sounds like a place you’d like to work, then we’d like to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop fresh, direct, well-written copy that aligns with the clients’ strategic goals

  • Develop English and Spanish concepts across multiple marketing channels

  • Create accurate English to Spanish translations for communication across all marketing channels, including print, emails, social, digital, and more

  • Write in a variety of styles as well as maintain brand voice and tone per specific client’s brand guidelines

  • Write across all channels, print, digital, social and broadcast

  • Collaborate and communicate with fellow creatives as well as other department members, all for the common goal of producing great work and happy clients

  • Participate in brainstorming and collaborative sessions with colleagues and clients

  • Present your work both internally and to clients, in-person and via video conference

  • Take ownership of projects and manage multiple assignments simultaneously, in all stages of development from concept to completion

  • Travel to client presentations as needed

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in written and verbal Spanish and have a thorough understanding of and experience in developing Hispanic, multi-cultural marketing campaigns

  • 7+ years’ creative writing experience in advertising, direct marketing or related agency environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in creative writing, advertising communications or equivalent

  • Strong conceptual thinker with the proven ability to translate marketing strategy into creative work

  • Ability to collaborate and brainstorm in a team environment

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, internally and client-facing

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in different phases of development

We’d love to hear your story and learn how your talents and experiences will enhance our team. You can find out more about us at wilengroup.com. To apply for the Senior Bilingual Copywriter position, please submit your resume and writing samples, and include a cover letter. This is a full-time position. We are an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace. E-Verify.

Job Description

Dunn&Co. seeks a full-time CD/copywriter for our Tampa, Florida office.

  • Be comfortable and confident working on a wide variety of online and offline media, including media that hasn’t been invented yet.
