Leo's Superfood 100% Vegan, 100% Gluten free Cafe is looking for an experienced short order cook/steward to handle fast paced short orders. (See LeosSuperfood.com for our menu)

Qualifications:

Must have at least two years of restaurant experience. A vegan would be a plus.

Requirements:

Short order cooking, prep work and closing.

Able to talk to customers and operate a cash register is also needed occasionally. Our customers love to tell the cooks how much they liked the food.

Steward duties to make sure the place is spotlessly clean ready for the next day.

Hours:

The Cafe Closes at 8pm most days but 3pm Sunday and 5pm Monday. Sunday and Monday shifts may start at 8am. May have to work on Sat or Sundays but will get at least 2 days off per week. (We rotate days with other cooks.)

Other:

Must be capable of working unsupervised and with minimal assistance, able to predict when we are going to run low on something and do what is needed to get it prepared without orders. (For instance each vegetable that needs to be chopped or sliced).

On "slow days" of the week we have a single cook. Friday and weekends we double up but one person does not get the full shift. Normally you get 24-38 hrs per week.

A person who lives close to the restaurant is preferred.

Since this is a small business must be willing to jump in and help where needed. Training will be done in the morning with our Head Chef and may take a few days.

We have a great team who all get along great, have sunny dispositions and leave their personal problems at home. That's who we are looking for. You will be asked to take a drug test.

A day in the life of our Pastry 3 Cooks… it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our  Pastry 3 Cooks accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.  



  • Our Pastry 3 Cooks  are responsible for  reviewing production sheet to understand variety of baked goods to be produced during their day. This will include preparing and cooking baked goods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists. They maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance internally and with the State all to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience.

  • Sometimes our guests have special requests involving food allergies, dietary restrictions and  special occasions. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Pastry 3 Cooks. 

  • Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Pastry 3 Cooks are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct. 

  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Pastry 3 Cooks must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.


 


The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Pastry 3 Cooks are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to  talk, and hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.  Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. At Sunrise, our Cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals, sanitation of food service areas, accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating and inventory of products and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities
 


Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving the residents in our community
- Ensuring all special dietary needs are met and preparing texture modified food as directed
- Following the specially prepared Sunrise menus and production sheets to maintain the highest possible quality and consistency
- Ensuring compliance with all record keeping, food safety and risk management requirements

 


Qualifications:
- Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
- One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
- A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
- A high School diploma or GED accepted
- To be successful you will need to have the ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal skills for effective communication, be competent in organizational, time management skills and demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- You will also need to demonstrate your ability to serve seniors in a team environment

Experience is not required, we train! We have FULL-TIME positions & PART-TIIME

Qualifications include :
Successfully pass a Physical
