Reports To:                              Kitchen Manager   


 


Maintains stock levels in the deli department by replenishing products as needed. Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provides excellent services to all guests

  • Assist guests with finding items they are looking for

  • Take orders or special requests for the hot bar

  • Quality Control

  • Ensures hot bar is ready for guests at 10am

  • Condenses or refills as needed

  • Fills everything when needed

  • Cleans off counter often

  • Takes temperatures of food

  • When filling, making sure to keep everything fresh and rotated

  • Ensures that shrinking of items is done properly

  • Labels items clearly for guests

  • Garnishes hot bar, making everything looking presentable

  • Does all prep for hot bar

  • Fried chicken, wedges, french-fries, etc.

  • Boils soups

  • Puts together items for night shift hot bar to use as well as the next day

  • Cleanliness

  • Entire case must be kept clean and organized

  • Wipes down hot bar and soups on a frequent basis

  • Communicates with night shift hot bar

  • Conveys to night time hot bar instructions on how to cook the food, which items need to be saved, and which items need to be shrunk

  • Required to maintain food safety logs.

  • Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm

  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

The Food Services Aide/Cook performs and completes a variety of food service related duties as necessary and assigned by departmental supervisors. The Food Service Aide/Cook assists the Cook with food and meal preparation and serving of meals. This role reports to the Dietary Manager. Responsibilities may include:


-assists in preparation of and/or prepares all food that is on the menu
-measures and mixes ingredients according to the recipes and group size
-use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blenders, mixers, grinders, tenderizers, ovens, microwaves, etc.
-observes and tests food being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with fork and/or temperature probe to determine that it is cooked.
-prepares dishes for staff to distribute to residents in general dining area and room deliveries
-serves prepared food as close to established serving times as possible
-removes garbage and recyclables
-cleans and sanitizes food preparation and equipment/work area, including wall surfaces, counter tops, and kitchenware.
-Sweeps and mops kitchen floor, vacuums dining room and bistro area as needed
-ensures all equipment is in proper functioning order and that weekly maintenance/cleaning tasks are performed, including, but not limited to; refrigerator, freezer, oven, toasters, microwave, blender, mixer, dish-ware, ovens, coffee machines, etc.
-helps maintain consistent inventory, and reports any stock items that need ordering
-after meal service, helps clear dining room tables and prepare tables for next meal service. Prepares menu board for each meal.


This position includes rotating weekend shifts and some holidays.

What you will be doing
