REPORTS TO: Program Manager

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Client Services Outreach Associate primary role will be outreach, census support, and front desk support

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Support

Outreach to identify and refer potential clients to WVCS for supportive services.

Outreach and educate current and potential partners and other service providers.

Provide support for Census 2020 programs.

Provide basic information and referrals to clients.

Support all Special Programs (Summer Camps, Back to School Program, etc).

Assist with administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

Customer Service and Administrative Support:

Provide support to Front Desk volunteers

Schedule, set-up and confirm client meetings and appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma and some work experience

Good communication, organizational and multitasking skills.

Demonstrated skills in working with people from various backgrounds.

Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word or comparable software required.

Bi-lingual (Spanish, Mandarin or Vietnamese) preferred.

Proven attention to detail plus the ability to organize resources, files, and record data.

Able to lift a 30 lb bag.

Must have valid California driver’s license, car, and proof of current automobile insurance.

Community Outreach Program Coordinator

Location: San Carlos, CA


Hours: 8 am – 5 pm, M – F


Pay Rate: $39.09/hour - $48.86/hour


**Word and Excel Testing will be required prior to interview**


 


General: The Program Coordinator, Senior and Veteran Mobility reports to the Manager, Accessible Transit Services and is responsible for coordinating senior-citizen and veteran customer outreach and support.


 


Minimum Qualifications:


Sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in social services, marketing, business, health education, or a related field

  • Three years coordinating community outreach, including organizing volunteer groups.


 


Other Requirements:



  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Must have effective written and oral communications skills.

  • Must have a valid California Driver License.


Examples of Essential Functions:



  • Develop, plan, organize and execute senior citizen and veteran customer outreach programs and events.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support outreach activities.

  • Act as a liaison to government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other groups that provide services to seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

  • Provide administrative, analytical, and data entry program support.


Examples of Duties:



  • Set goals, objectives, and policies for Mobility Ambassadors and Veterans volunteers in the Senior Mobility Initiative and Veteran Volunteer programs.

  • Arrange and coordinate outreach events to promote District services

  • Attend outreach events to promote District services. Coordinate volunteers to attend outreach events.

  • Through volunteers, provide individual and group training to seniors and veterans who want to use District services

  • Administer travel training program, including referring candidates to vendors and reviewing invoices.

  • Participate in fund-raising activities and plan, organize and implement volunteer recognition events and activities.

  • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the Senior Mobility Initiatives and Veteran Volunteer Corps programs.

  • Prepare reports for grants and other purposes.

  • Track volunteer hours and the number of people who receive training.

  • Supervise volunteer Mobility Ambassadors and Veterans Volunteers, in coordination with cities and non-profit agencies throughout San Mateo County.

  • Arrange for on-the-job and other required training and evaluation of volunteers.

  • Prepare and maintain procedural and training manuals.

  • Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees and the public from injury or harm. Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Create, distribute, and collect records of program participants.

  • Generate data reports at regular intervals throughout the year to check for accurate and complete data collection.

  • Provide general assistance to the members of the division.

  • Ensure participant files contain all necessary and up-to-date participation documentation.
