Human Resources Manager for Children’s Cooking Company

If so, this is the right job for you!  Cooking Round the World is a cooking and cultural education program designed to broaden a child’s understanding of the world around them using food as the conduit to get there. 

As our chef educators are key to the success of the program, the Human Resources position is critical.  

Responsibilities include: 

· Advertising for, interviewing, and hiring contractors and staff; 

· Onboarding and trainings; 

· Performance management and documentation; · Compensation and Time sheets;

· Meeting planning; 

· Staff relations and counseling;  

· Marketing skills; social media outreach work; 

· Strategic planning; 

· Maintaining and distribution of policies, and handbook; 

· An amount of teaching (optional) 

Must have: · A car

· 1 year experience in HR

This position reports to the Director. This is a 40 hour a week position, M –F, 9 – 5 pm. Company located in Oakland.

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) is hiring a Properties Artisan, a valuable member of a creative and dynamic Production Department. The Props Artisan reports to the Props Master, and is charged primarily with building, fabricating, and executing properties requirements for the Theater’s Main Stage season. The Props Artisan also offers occasional support as requested for projects in other departments at Cal Shakes. Qualifications You are an ideal candidate if you:

  • Can demonstrate expertise in prop-related technology and familiarity with standard office and design tools such as Vectorworks, Excel, Budgeting, Photoshop, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Fulfillment of these responsibilities is accomplished in the following ways:   

Sourcing, Preparing, and Creating Props for the four Mainstage shows:  Aiding the Props Master with all prop-related purchases, construction, alterations, and rentals · Training and supervising personnel. This includes helping recruit available over hire labor and interns and cultivating relationships with artists and craftspeople with potentially beneficial skills. · Adhering to departmental budgets in accordance with the Props Master’s direction · Helping to supply rehearsal properties as requested by Stage Management, and working to keep the lines of communication open and functioning between the Stage management team and the prop shop · Coordinating and performing all load in, notes, and strike calls while prioritizing safe practices in an outdoor environment · Working with the Props Master to communicate all Props Department’s needs, activities, and resources to appropriate parties including the designers, director, and theatre staff in a timely manner.   

Maintenance of current Prop stock & Administrative:  Implementing and maintaining appropriate safety protocols in accordance with legal guidelines and company policy · Maintaining the prop workshop and stock  · Creating and maintaining an accurate inventory of tools and materials. · Providing props support for other theatre events and projects as requested · Cultivating relationships with and support other Bay Area arts organizations and artists, working with the production manager and props master to provide rental of props when available.  Other tasks as assigned.   

· Theater is open-air with extended standing and walking on uneven surfaces. · Work at the theater includes exposure to sunlight, and hot and cold weather for extended periods of time.  · Variable schedule requires evening and weekend hours during load-ins and technical rehearsals. · Some local travel between the scene shop in Berkeley and the theater in Orinda.   

This position is available starting May 7th, 2018 through September 29th 2018.    

Supervision: The Props Artisan reports to the Props Master and the Production Manager.

Our studio in Greenbrae/Larkspur has been open since January 2016 and we are one of the most successful Orangetheory Fitness studios in the Bay Area. We are looking to add to our growing team of passionate group fitness coaches and fitness sales associates.

FITNESS SALES ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes and maintains an effective referral program.
  • Maintains accurate records using established OTF sales systems.
  • Conducts telephone inquiries/follow up calls/customer care calls
  • Leads OTF studio previews with prospects and/or fitness program holders
  • Greets members and guests promptly, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a friendly positive entrance into the OTF studio
  • Accurately follow the daily studio cleaning checklist (pre/during/post) shift activities
  • Maintains an organized and clean lobby/front desk area
  • Responsible for processing accurate cash and credit card transactions
  • Follow up and follow through activities with all prospective clients
  • Responds immediately to member requests, inquiries and concerns
  • Responsible for attending and participating in all relative OTF training program

FITNESS SALES ASSOCIATE JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Summary 

The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing all day-to-day bookkeeping duties determined by the Accounting Manager. Some of these duties include A/P, A/R, ensuring all income, expenses and employee information are accurately recorded in QuickBooks, staying on top of student transactions and assisting with HR related tasks. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Executive Director, Accounting Manager, Human Resources Administrator and Student Services Manager.   

The Bookkeeper reports to the Accounting Manager.   

The Bookkeeper is responsible for performing work in accordance with GAAP, internal policies and procedures and staying compliant with payroll and labor laws.   

Due to the nature of this position, candidates must have a strong work ethic and exercise good judgment while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information, records and reports.   

Key Responsibilities:    

Accounts Receivable

  • Review and record all receivables into QuickBooks
  • Deposit checks via check scanner, make copies of checks
  • Maintain and deposit all online sales from PayPal and Amazon
  • Receive sales receipts from all campuses and record in QuickBooks
    • Follow-up with staff to find missing receipts
  • Process student enrollment contracts and payments upon receipt
  • Maintain student payment plan database and credit card processing
    • Follow-up with students if their credit card was declined   

Accounts Payable

  • Record and pay all bills in a timely manner
    • Investigate and resolve questionable bills before paying them
  • Review monthly billing statements from insurance providers for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Monitor bank account balances and transactions - Request and record receipts weekly
  • Monitor credit card account balances and transactions - Request and record all credit card charges

Student Cancellations, Terminations, Leaves of Absence and Returns

  • Process cancellations, terminations, leaves and returns in a timely fashion
  • Process student refunds through online credit card system or check depending on student payment method and record in QuickBooks

Reconciliation Coordination

  • Input journal entries in a timely manner
  • Ensure all accounts reconcile accurately, including petty cash, credit card accounts and bank accounts

Payroll

  • Ensure employee changes are updated in QuickBooks for payroll accuracy
  • Input and process bi-weekly payroll and liability payments   

Additional Bookkeeping Duties

  • Prepare checks for reimbursement for mileage, expenses and CEU’s
  • Keep cash flow spreadsheet up-to-date for Executive Director
  • Assist with Worker’s Compensation and financial audits
  • Prepare and submit Multiple Worksite reports to CA Employment Development Department (EDD), quarterly
  • Prepare 1099’s, annually
  • Shred old files and file prior years files at beginning of new year
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Human Resources Duties

  • Post and remove job positions with direction from HR
  • Plug holiday hours into TimeClock Plus
  • File faculty CEU’s
  • Assist HR with other administrative tasks and projects such as processing employee paperwork associated with on-boarding and off-boarding, employee birthdays and anniversaries and open enrollment

Job Requirements

  • AA Accounting Degree or equivalent A/P, A/R experience 
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP Accounting)
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Experience with Intuit QuickBooks Desktop
  • Experience with Intuit QuickBooks Online a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with Google Applications & Gmail a plus
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to stay calm and professional when speaking with students about tuition
  • Solid verbal, written, listening and organizational skills     

 Employee Benefits Starting on the First Day:

Recreation Program Teacher

Under direction of the Recreation Supervisor, Assistant Supervisor and Community Services Site Coordinator, the After School Recreation Program/Preschool Program Teacher (Recreation Leader II/III) implement a safe and developmentally appropriate recreational and educational program that provides for the full intellectual and social development of children enrolled in the After School , Summer Camps and or Preschool Programs.

Important and Essential Duties:

*Assist in developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children

*Implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program

*Ensure children are supervised at all times

*Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times

*Provide various experiences and activities for children.

*Build children's esteem

*Establish routines and provide positive guidance/discipline

*Provide a safe and secure environment for children

*Integrate children with special needs in a positive and respectful manner

*Follow all health and safety procedures as designated by the City of South San Francisco regulations and Community Care Licensing Title 22 regulations.

*Document accidents, incidents and any program related issues that may occur

*Maintains excellent communication and customer service skills

Education and Experience:

*Candidates must have equivalent to graduation from high school.

*A Recreation Leader II Teacher does not need but is encouraged to have completed 6 semester units and are in progress to complete 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Recreation or Physical Education or Human Services or Social Welfare.

*A Recreation Leader III Teacher must have completed 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Recreation or Physical Education or Human Services or Social Welfare in the following areas:

-Child Development

-Principles or Theory

-Curriculum

-Child, Family, Community

Experience: The ideal candidate would have at least six (6) months of work experience from any combination of the following:

-Experience in licensed childcare

-Camp experience

-Physical education experience

-Recreation experience

Pay Scale:

*Recreation Leader II Teacher

$ 12.09-$14.71

$14.13-$17.19

Position Summary

The Front Desk Representative at the JCC of the East Bay is a part-time position responsible for receptionist and clerical duties at the desk of the main entrance. This person is the “face” of the organization for visitors and program participants and is responsible for the first impression we make on our community. Our ideal candidate is welcoming and friendly, as well as perceptive and disciplined when it comes to the safety, and security of the building and program participants.

Pay is 13.81 an hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Larkin Street Primary responsibilities include overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs; ensuring effective and coordinated service delivery; grant and contract compliance; and fiscal responsibility. The Director is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising managers in their division, which includes: Education, Employment, Youth Advisory Board, and Art.  

In addition, the Director will embody leadership, including driving a unified vision for the division and serving as the spokesperson and primary advocate for the division’s programs in the broader community 

Develop, oversee and evaluate programming within each entity of the division · Promote collaboration, cross training and dual programming among program teams within the division and throughout the agency 

Foster professional development for employees at all levels of the division · Serve as a member of the agency’s Senior Management Team and as such, be the liaison between Larkin Street Academy and the Housing Programs, Engagement Services Programs and the administrative arm of the agency   

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:   

  • Oversee LSA management team, actively supporting their work with direct service staff 
  • Direct the full spectrum of Larkin Street Academy services, including ensuring coordination and integration of Larkin Street Academy services into agency’s continuum of services
  • In coordination with the leadership team, oversee budgets, data collection and tracking, contract      requirements and program outcomes.Strategic planning for the expansion and enhancement of employment and education services
  • Lead and oversee the development of partnerships with the San Francisco professional and business and education community, as well as the public entities of the City and County and other community based organizations to address the education and employment needs of homeless youth
  • Present and train on behalf of Larkin Street at a local and national level
  • Influence education and employment policy at a local and national level via relationships with government and policy advocacy bodies  
  • Identify the training and Professional development needs of Larkin Street Academy staff 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Education, Human Resources, or related field. · At least five years of management and supervisory experience.  · Experience in workforce development and provision of education services to homeless and at-risk youth  · Previous experience overseeing program design and development, implementation and operations, project integration and management across multiple agency sites; staff supervision and training; and budget management.  · Excellent written and verbal skills, including public speaking · Strong Commitment to the agency and philosophy of Larkin Street Youth Services

Communicating when discrepancy occurs. Reporting to superior with daily operations.

Familiarity with weights grams/pounds, volume measurements. 

Able to lift 50+ lbs, this is a physically demanding job.

Able to stand for 8hrs at a time.

Serve Safe certified.

Food safety/sanitation standards; shoes, clothing, hat (hat will be provided).

Familiarity with pastry production in professional kitchen atmosphere.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop weekly plans, and implements age appropriate curriculum (lesson plan) to

Education Requirements

  • BA Degree with 24 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
  • 2 years teaching experience
  • Special education coursework preferred
  • Physical Requirements*
  • Often required to stand, sit, and lift children; reach with hands and arms; and stoop,
  • kneel, crouch, bend, squat or crawl.
  • Set-up and take-down school equipment and project areas everyday.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to hike through rough terrain, while assisting, and sometimes carrying, students.
  • Will be required to drive a motor vehicle. Having a vehicle is a plus.
  • Able to perform necessary first aid, when necessary.
  • Able to be present for the full school day (including set-up and clean-up spans from
  • Monday - Friday 8:00am-3:30pm).
