Eviction Defense Collaborative (EDC) is seeking an enthusiastic Supervising Litigation attorney to join our litigation team. EDC provides a vital service representing tenants sued in unlawful detainer and is on the frontline of eviction defense in San Francisco. We fight for our clients to keep their homes. The work is fast-paced and demanding, but very rewarding. You will work with an experienced team of community lawyers representing clients throughout their case, beginning with pre-trial motions, through discovery, and at trial. The Supervising Litigation Attorney is responsible for overseeing and providing day-to-day management of the EDC’s Litigation staff. The Supervising Litigation Attorney may also work in collaboration with other EDC staff (including our Volunteer Coordinator and rental assistance program staff) as part of his/her/their legal representation. He or she reports to the Managing Attorney of the EDC. This is an exempt, full-time position.

THE ORGANIZATION Born out of a collaborative of a dozen non-profit providers and law groups, EDC provides legal assistance, advocacy and representation to predominately low-income and indigent tenants in San Francisco who are being evicted. Historically, EDC has been the first point of contact of approximately 95% of all tenants facing an eviction (unlawful detainer). Recently, EDC was named as the Lead Partner for San Francisco Tenant Right to Counsel. In this role, EDC will be designing and overseeing the implementation of tenant right to counsel. Only a select few cities in the United States have a universal right to representation for tenants facing eviction.

EDC has assisted these tenants by educating them about the legal process, advising them of their options, drafting responsive legal documents, providing referrals to assist them in fighting their evictions, negotiating legal settlements and representing them at trial. EDC also administers one-time rental assistance grants and loans through our RADCo program to help tenants who are behind in their rent to pay the rent and stay in their homes. The work at the EDC is made possible by a dedicated staff and many volunteers from local schools and the community. We are a collection of individuals passionate about advocating for tenant rights and preventing homelessness.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise program staff (consisting of attorneys and law clerks) in all aspects of their provision of legal representation to tenants facing eviction to ensure compliance with program deliverables and EDC’s mission.

• Develop and implement evaluation process to assess needs and challenges of litigation staff and regularly meet with them to manage their development.

• In collaboration with the Director of Litigation and the Executive Director, recruit and hire program staff.

• Train, guide, supervise and support litigation staff as needed in the litigation process (e.g. ex parte applications, noticed motion drafting and hearings, trial prep including jury instructions, trial briefs, best case management practices and other litigation processes).

• Be prepared to "step in" as lead counsel or second chair when cases progress to trial

• Provide support to the Director of Litigation and Executive Director on litigation program-related issues.

• Work with attorneys and other EDC staff to train and supervise volunteers and interns

• Manage independent caseload and represent clients consistent with EDC standards.

• Conduct trainings and other outreach as needed to other non-profits and community based agencies

• Participate in encouraging positive morale in your team and agency.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• California Bar Membership.

• Past supervision experience of at least 1 year

• Previous litigation experience (preferably in the unlawful detainer context) of at least 4 years.

• Demonstrated commitment to social justice and an interest in assisting diverse, low-income communities.

• Be well-organized, highly motivated, and creative.

• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer literate. There is significant computer use.

• Able to work on several projects simultaneously, and handle a high volume of activity.

• Preference will be given to individuals with additional language skills (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, etc.).

Compensation: Competitive Non-Profit Salary (DOE)

As a staff attorney you will play a key role in the implementation of tenant right to counsel in San Francisco, and at the forefront of the universal right to representation movement. Working with a team of attorneys, interns, and volunteers, you will represent tenants fighting eviction lawsuits. While prior landlord-tenant experience is helpful, it is not required -- we will train the right person.

  • Meet clients in various settings, such as home, shelters, public benefits offices, and court.

  • Support clients in identifying their needs, setting goals, and developing structured plan for achieving those goals through appropriate evidence-based clinical practices

  • Provide crisis intervention and crisis counseling- Develop emergency safety plans and long term plans as a team with the client and attorney

  • Help clients connect to housing support services, physical and mental health services, and substance abuse treatment as needed

  • Support clients’ applications to various benefits program and at hearings, appointments, and meditation sessions

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, social welfare, counseling psychology, social psychology, or relevant experience

-Excellent verbal, interpersonal, writing, client interviewing, and organizational skills


  • Ability to work independently and be self‐motivated

  • An interest in being part of an interdisciplinary team with attorneys to support clients

  • An interest in issues pertaining to housing preservation

  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • In‐depth knowledge of, and experience with, social services agencies, housing support services, and mental health providers in San Francisco County

  • Experience working in a variety of settings in the field with individuals with physical and mental health disabilities, survivors of domestic violence, and those impacted by complex trauma.

Bliss Belly Kitchen is a culinary school that focuses on Health  conscious, Soul Conscious, and Eco-Conscious Cooking classes for  children. We utilize a farm to table approach in our recipes and  incorporate yoga and mindfulness to give our students the best possible  connection to themselves and the land and source where their food comes  from.  We are seeking Camp Collaborators for the Summer 2019 season!

 

Duties include:


  • Leading a small group of kids through a culinary lesson

  • Assisting the chef & kids during cooking classes

  • Cleaning up the kitchen, washing dishes &  mopping/sweeping

  • Supervising the kids during play/snack time and lunch

  • Leading afternoon play or arts and crafts activities

  • On occasion shopping for ingredients.

 

Most important attribute is a can do attitude, a go getter, and a love  for children.  3+ years experience working in the kitchen and with  children. Must be able to do yoga sun salutations (equivalent of a push  up and lunges) and lift 25 lbs. An interest in receiving training in and  practicing yoga, breathing, and mindfulness on a daily basis is  essential.

 

Dates of Position: Camps will run from June 17, 2019 - August 23, 2019  with a break over July 4th weekend. Staff must commit to the entire  season. Camp Collaborator shifts are 7:30AM-4PM with camp scheduled from  9AM-3PM.  Aftercare runs until 5:30pm, so there is a possibility for  extra hours for the few kids who stay.  You must be available for those  dates plus some training dates to be determined.   There are 3-4 Camp  Collaborator openings, depending on total camp enrollment.  Salary DOE.  If hired, there will be training days in May prior to the start of camp.

Scope of Position:



  • Primary coding resource for assigned products and studies .

  • Accurately codes assigned data fields including, but not limit ed to, adverse events using MedDRA and concomitant medications using WHO Drug in accordance with company coding conventions and ATC.

  • Effectively performs coding related functions for assigned studies.

  • Prepare and manage coding assignments for new studies and collaborate with clinical team representatives on approach to coding strategy for assigned products and oversight of assigned studies including sign off of document as it impacts medical coding review, product approval, analysis of coded data for safety review and signal detection and patient safety.

  • Identifies when terms or drug names are inadequate, ambiguous or unclear for coding purposes and direct query generation in such aspects. Also, identify and resolve coding discrepancies; and review coding listings for accuracy and consistency.

  • Participate in identification of clinical trial prohibited meds, exclusionary medical history and appropriately issue escalation.

  • Participate in the development of coding conventions, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Practices as a member of coding team.

  • Keep abreast of coding guidelines internally and externally. Provide consultation to safety reviewers, study physicians, and clinical team members regarding study specific coding questions. Does not initiate strategic decisions, but is responsible for supporting the department, division and company's strategic direction.

  • Provide Coding training/overview to Clinical team members, Clinical Research Organizations, Investigators and investigator sites as needed, in support of clinical trials.

  • Impacts medical coding quality and consistency and resultant ability to complete analysis of coded data for safety review, signal detection, issue identification, pro duct approval and patient safety.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree with related health science background required

  • Working knowledge of MedDRA, and WHO¬DD is strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Clinical trial data systems and/or EDC coding tools is a plus.

  • Follow global coding conventions and guidelines and identify medical coding needs and requirements.

  • Must have absolute resolution of medical coding data completeness regarding all aspects of safety management utilizing basic knowledge of regulatory guidance’s/ practices.

Nature & Scope


The Culinary Assistant  position is critical in ensuring that all sanitation requirements for our kitchen are met and a safe and professional culinary experience is had by our patients, families and staff.


 


Major Accountabilities


•                     Completion of any daily tasks as assigned by the Chef or Sous Chef.


•                     Assists the Chef or Sous Chef with food preparation activities such as chopping, peeling, washing as directed.

The Registered Nurse at Veritas Collaborative promotes and restores patients' health by carrying out day-to-day and long-term patient care plans; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families. The school and health system have shared clinical goals for improving behavioral health and providing effective, state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders. Specific goals include delivery of effective inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care across the lifespan, integration of behavioral health services in the primary care setting, expanding addiction services, and improving access to onsite and follow-up behavioral health services for emergency departments in the IUH system. Systemwide initiatives are underway to improve the use of technology, including telehealth, in the delivery of behavioral health services and to increase access, throughput, and capacity of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the provision of nutrition therapy to all patients and nutrition education to patients, patient families and staff. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the participates in admissions to complete nutrition assessment for IOP patients, as assigned by Executive Director. Deliver 1:1 ABA-based therapy to children with autism in home based settings.


· We will train you on this based on company values, ABA principles, behavior plans, and specific client needs!


Implement ABA-based therapy programs under the direction of BCBA’s and BCaBA’s.


· Our team of supervisors, trainers and assistants will help to empower you to successfully tailor your work to each client!


Maintain precise records on client behavior / program progress.


· We use a blend of electronic data with iPads and paper based models to meet the individual needs of each client.


Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for all clients.


· Every CBS employee works to go above and beyond expectations up to and including care for the environment around us. Every moment will be spent engaged with our clients ensuring the best use of their time!


Assist with daily self-help skills with client when necessary.


· From ages 2-20, client needs can vary. Whatever the client's age or ability level, we provide the necessary behavioral supports!


Transport clients to necessary settings and commute to various locations throughout the day.


· Our clients live all around the 465 loop. Applicants must be prepared to travel between clients as well as transport clients to necessary locations.


Am I qualified to be an ABA therapist / RBT for CBS?


You must meet the following guidelines:


· Experience or interest in working with children


· Experience or interest in working with individuals with autism


· Reliable transportation


· Provide proof of valid auto insurance


· Authorize CBS to perform routine background check


· A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required


· Available to work days, some evenings and at times weekends


Preferred, but not required :


· Experience working with children with autism and other special needs


· Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related field


Extensive training will be provided to every ABA therapist hired by CBS on ABA principles, behavior and autism!

Requirements



  • Hire, develop, train, and supervise the Professional Relations Manager (PRM) team responsible for delivering consistent referral results, disseminating program-specific communications to enhance program awareness, impact, and reputation.

  • Responsible for delivering quality inquiry generation through strong referral partner relationships that consistently meet/exceed annual admission budget and/or reforecast goals at each hospital and clinic site.

  • Optimize territory performance through account development, engagement and nurturing strategies and tactics.

  • Utilize CRM data to analyze inquiry performance by territory, provider account/type and LOC to achieve performance goals.

  • Set clear measurable objectives and plans for Professional Relations Managers (PRMs) and manage performance through pro-active coaching and development, as well as quarterly reviews.

  • Collaborate and advise on program management with leadership to determine specific communication needs, including message development and delivery, and best method for communication to targeted audiences.

  • Work with Marketing and Admissions counterparts to identify outreach needs and to develop strategic plans.

  • Effectively lead weekly team meeting and weekly individual performance calls with PRMs.

  • Track team metrics and report data to supervisor on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Hold PRMs accountable for competent and productive usage of Salesforce to fully achieve quarterly and annual inquiry targets.

  • Review/approve PRM expense reports in line with budget and company travel policies.

  • In collaboration with supervisor, provide supervision, support and coaching to employees. Other supervisory activities include (but are not limited to):

    • Interviewing, hiring, goal development, onboarding and ensuring continuous training requirements and compliance items are met.

    • Quarterly training to improve PRM skill set, enhance referral outcomes and create consistent messaging about key differentiators and programs.




 


Education & Experience



  • Bachelors degree required; Master's preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive related professional experience in healthcare sales leadership or equivalent.

  • Prefer extensive exposure in communicating with physicians, therapists, medical professionals, and social workers.

  • Must be proficient in building and leading successful professional outreach teams.

  • Must be experienced in utilizing CRM tools, including Salesforce, to manage business and meet targets.

  • Must be proficient in developing and executing outreach strategies and tactics to drive desired outcomes.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and interpersonal and team skills.

  • Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and build relationships with co-workers and key stakeholders at all levels in the organization.

  • Must demonstrate professionalism in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with colleagues, physicians and all referral sources.

  • Ability to understand complex clinical information and translate it for multiple audiences.

  • Knowledge of and comfort with medical terminology, ideally related to eating disorders and treatment or more broadly, behavioral health.

  • Possess an understanding and familiarity with the operation of behavioral healthcare facilities.

  • Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with confidential information.

  • Must be a self-starter who is well organized, efficient, and exhibits a professional, friendly attitude in person and on the phone.

  • Must be a team player, self-motivated, and able to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Must travel regularly to visit territories, provide PRM coaching, engage referral partners, attend conferences, events, etc.

NATURE & SCOPE
 
RN's provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. They work as part of a team with physicians, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine and use medical equipment. Promotes and restores patients' health by carrying out day-to-day and long-term care plans by performing patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient's age and clinical condition. Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff.
 


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
• Perform nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is provided and that quality standards are met. • Provides physical, emotional, psychological support to patients and families – providing feedback to families when needed. • Accepts assignments of patients during assigned shift and demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level of licensure. • Observes patient’s behavior, mental status and activities and communicates/documents with team members via electronic medical record. • Provides meal coaching and support for patients and families, including participating in and completing meals as appropriate and as assigned. • Adheres to all Joint Commission, licensure and compliance related policies and regulations • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. • Supervises licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nurse assistants (CNAs) while on shift. • Demonstrates knowledge of medications, including psychotropic drugs, and their correct administration based on the patient's age and clinical condition. Administers medications and treatments. • Assesses, observes and records patient behavior. • Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals. • Establishes treatment plans, operating medical equipment. • Participates in the admission of new patients. • Implements initial or changes in medication, procedures and any other orders. • Assists staff to interpret change in a positive manner. • Assists staff to provide a safe work environment for patient care. • Assist in the preparation and implementation of the annual goals for the department. • Keep professionally current, by attending continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, meetings, and/or independent research reading. • Consistently and independently follows established safety and infection control procedures. Intervenes in unsafe situations. • Meets the communication needs of patient and family. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders, including but not limited to: cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral. • Participates in the unit's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities; provides feedback compliance and engages in process improvements. • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. • Formulates and implements patient plans of care; family is included when appropriate; demonstrates ability to revise the plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness. • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. • Supports and maintains a culture of safety by maintaining a safe and clean working environment. • Other duties as assigned


Experience (List the type and length of experience) • New graduates will be considered. • Minimum of 2 year’s clinical experiences-inpatient setting, preferred. • Experience in Behavioral Health and Eating Disorders preferred. Specific skills (Include specific skills and knowledge necessary to meet the objectives of the position) • Phlebotomy/NG tube placement/EKG competencies. • Strong time management and organizational skills. • Basic computer knowledge of EMR systems; Microsoft outlook; and other electronic platforms. • Strong interpersonal skills and professional boundaries. • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in complex situations. • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner • Additional languages preferred. (Bi-lingual in English/Spanish).
