The Eviction Defense Collaborative (EDC) seeks an enthusiastic Rental Assistance Case Coordinator for its Rental Assistance Disbursement Component program (RADCo). The RADCo Case Coordinator is responsible for interviewing clients and evaluating an applicant’s eligibility for rental assistance. Approximately 40% of the Coordinator’s time will be spent providing short-term case management to clients seeking assistance to pay back rent and move in deposits, while the remainder of the time will be spent assessing clients for subsidies and providing referrals for subsidies to the Q Foundation. This position reports to the RADCo Program Manager. The applicant also works closely with the other Rental Assistance Case Coordinators, Rental Assistance Volunteers and interacts with the Staff Attorneys and other staff.

THE ORGANIZATION

Born out of a collaborative of a dozen non-profit providers and law groups, EDC provides legal assistance, advocacy and representation to predominately low-income and indigent tenants in San Francisco who are being evicted. EDC also administers one-time rental assistance grants and loans through our RADCo program to help tenants who are behind in their rent to pay the rent and stay in their homes. The work at the EDC is made possible by a dedicated staff and many volunteers from local schools and the community. We are a collection of individuals passionate about advocating for tenant rights and preventing homelessness.

SALARY: DOE - plus medical and dental benefits. This is a non-exempt, full-time position (Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm).

subsidy assistance. Collaborate and communicate with other rental assistance coordinators as necessary. • Work cooperatively with other nonprofit agencies to receive client referrals and identify useful services as they benefit individual client’s needs.

• Advocate on behalf of tenants with their landlords and the landlords’ attorneys, to encourage acceptance of rental assistance payments.

• Attend weekly Mandatory Settlement Conference court dates as the RADCo representative. Provide information and program-based advice to attorneys representing EDC/other agency clients who may need rental assistance.

• Create and implement new procedures and forms, as needed, to effectively administer rental assistance and case management programs.
