  • Ensures food service area and food is free of nuts, nut products or food items that have been processed in a facility that also processes nut products according to the policies and procedures of the Primrose school. Checks all food labels upon receipt to ensure compliance with this requirement


  • Follows the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director


  • Follows portion control standards for lunch and snacks in preparations


  • Is adaptable and implements changes in menus, if instructed to do so


  • Ensures that each meal is ready to be served when scheduled


  • Assists with ordering food and is able to calculate the amount needed


  • Maintains an orderly, clean and safe kitchen area at all times, including the proper maintenance of equipment

The FSQA Manager is responsible for leading and managing the site FSQA team in order to assure the production of high quality, safe and legally compliant products that meet the desired product design and customer expectations. This position is responsible for providing governance of the Food Safety and Quality Management System and lead the implementation of the Home Chef standards at the production facility. The FSQA Manager represents the FSQA function at the local plant level and is expected to lead continuous improvement on Food Safety and Quality Assurance.


People Management

    • Coach, train and develop FSQA personnel to drive a higher performance level

    • Maintain responsibility for ensuring that all FSQA personnel are properly trained to perform job function, as well as possess and in-depth knowledge of food safety and quality principles

    • Manage FSQA department staffing in alignment with budget

    • Support the development of a talent pipeline for FSQA at the site level

    • Partner effectively with other departments to improve food safety and quality



Site FSQA Projects and Priorities

    • Lead the FSQA agenda at the site, challenging facility management team where necessary to ensure wholesome products that meet the regulatory requirements

    • Lead and support Home Chef and SQF standards implementation at the site and drive the appropriate FSQA mindset and behavior

    • Sustain efficient food safety and quality management system, in compliance to SQF, FDA, and Home Chef standards, including CAPA and training programs.

    • Manage Food Safety and Quality incident, supporting decision making for out of specification materials and products, ensuring that relevant corrective and preventive actions are defined and implemented.

    • Accountable for site FSQA review and approval of new products, FSQA risk assessments and change management

    • Serve as on-site point person for all regulatory and third party inspections; partners with the plant management team to develop necessary corrective and preventive action plans



Strategy for improvement of FSQA objectives

    • Lead FSQA Strategy Deployment at the site, delivering against key metrics reflected in the company business objectives

    • Utilize internal and external (customer reported) quality data to identify and execute improvement opportunities for FSQA Department and entire plant team

    • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Continuous Improvement, and other departments to identify and implement initiatives to improve the customer experience (reduce errors)

    • Perform key metric, incidents and Continuous Improvement reviews to ensure transparency at management level and coordinate site CAPA activities

    • Represent FSQA function on the Site Management Team.



General Responsibilities

    • Follow the facility GMPs and help enforce policies throughout the facility

    • Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs

    • 7-10 years experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, supply chain or related field

Summary of Responsibilities:



The Plant Manager provides the vision, leadership, and coaching needed to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of all departmental employees within the plant. The plant manager directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production and production-related activities. He or she provides direction and fosters the professional development of departmental managers and supervisors. The plant manager also drives continuous improvement, executes change management, and ensures plant and employee safety standards are met.


Daily Production Management:

    • Oversees and monitors the day-to-day operations of the entire production team (to include work flow, management of work in process, job assignments, staffing, etc.) and ensures a smooth flow and efficient production.

    • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all support departments including maintenance, sanitation, quality assurance and other departments that support the anticipation, communication and resolution of issues related to plant production and performance.

    • Reviews production reports and requirements to ensure proactive preparation for daily and future production challenges.

    • Actively anticipates issues impacting production and troubleshoots in advance

    • Ensures the quality, quantity and integrity of all raw materials; works with applicable corporate staff to ensure same.



Facility Organization & Management:

    • Sets a high standard for facility organization and hold team accountable for maintaining a clean, clear, and organized plan per the Home Chef values

    • Promotes a strong and healthy/safety culture via compliance with policies, procedures and regulations which ensures that a safe work environment is maintained for all employees/customers. (This includes participation in safety-related training, incident reviews and corrective actions and continuous improvement through safety audits and suggestions for improvement.)

    • Demonstrates working knowledge of inventory management best practices

    • Oversees WMS implementation within the plant and serves as a champion for the system

    • Dives adoption of new tools and technologies across all departments and levels



Management to KPIs:

    • Responsible for the development and administration of plant-related budgets and authorization of associated expenditures.

    • Owns the financial performance of the plant week over week and exhibits detailed understanding of cost drivers

    • Manages to weekly and quarterly KPI targets, exhibiting an ability to develop and implement a plan of action to improve KPIs



Continuous Improvement & Change Management:

    • Implements plans to correct and resolve any problems that are identified, determine the root cause and oversee specific corrective action(s) for continuous improvement.

    • Partners with Home Chef Continuous improvement team to ensure successful rollout of continuous improvement initiatives

    • Holds team to a high standard for adherence to standard operating procedures and demonstrates initiative in identifying and implementing changes to improve workflow and standard processes



People Development & Culture:

    • Provides coaching, mentoring and development that enables and optimizes the teams effectiveness. Establishes, monitors and reviews individual and team performance.

Summary of Responsibilities:



Supervisor will execute the production plan made by the Shift Manager and handle the Team Leads, Line leads, and hourly associates throughout the shift. You should be able to lead multiple activities at a time and take ownership of the output of leads and associates working on his or her team. You are also responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes. You will handle and troubleshoot all technological tools used in production (e.g. production tracker, scanners, etc.). You are also expected to work closely with other functions within the facility to execute plant-wide initiatives.


Pre-op Set Up:

    • You are responsible for arriving prior to the start of production to receive the days production plan from the shift manager and coordinating with your team leads to set up all tables and/or lines prior to the arrival of production associates.

    • Receives production targets from Shift manager runs delegation of production tasks to team leads and line leads, and ensures proper staffing for all tasks

    • Works with warehouse team to ensure all product required for production tasks has been dropped to the production floor in the quantities required for the production plan

    • Sets up for each activity according to standard operating procedures

    • Coaches team lead and line lead on set up processes and procedures to ensure that SOPs for table and line set up are followed

    • Ensures workstations are setup for each production activity (portioning, meal bagging) in a manner that correlates with production targets

    • Shares recommendations for improvements to safety, equipment, and/or SOPs with Continuous Improvement manager

    • Demonstrates leadership during adoption of new processes continually works to find opportunities to gain efficiency and improve quality in production



Portioning and Meal Bagging:

    • You are responsible for leading the portioning and meal bagging tables/lines associated with production targets for multiple meals.

    • Ensures all tables are operating according to Home Chef standard operating procedures

    • Ensures team leads and line leads are properly utilizing production sheets

    • Finds opportunities to improve portioning and meal bagging efficiency and shares ideas with Continuous improvement team

    • Provides on the floor coaching to team leads, line leads, and associates to boost production pace and improve quality

    • Ensures teams are on track to meet production targets for the day

    • Anticipates product and packaging shortage issues and works with warehouse and/or runners to deliver more product to the floor to prevent a production halt

    • Works with quality team to resolve issues identified related to food safety and/or product quality

    • Escalates quality issues that may result in future product shorts to shift manager and procurement

    • Takes responsibility for the accuracy of counts conducted by team lead and line leads

    • Coaches team leads and line leads on standard methodologies related to counts

    • Demonstrates working knowledge of all production equipment and machinery (sprinter, PS-125, piston fillers) and can perform basic troubleshooting processes



Shipping:

    • You are responsible for watching shipping lines.

    • Understand shipping labels sort and ensures sorted labels are properly stored and delivered to shipping lines

    • Works with warehouse team and runners to ensure all product required for shipping is present on the line and that sufficient replenishment quantities are available on the floor

    • Works with warehouse team to improve standard processes and procedures related to line set-up

    • Utilizes boxing call out sheet to verify line prior to the start of shipping

    • Follows shipping SOPs and coaches leads and associates on shipping line SOPs

    • Makes sure the shipping line remains organized throughout entire shift

    • Works with quality department to ensure appropriate levels of QA staffing on the line

    • Runs the pace of shipping line, ensuring team is on pace to meet production targets

    • Demonstrates working knowledge of all shipping line equipment and technology and can perform basic troubleshooting procedures (scanners, case sealers, etc.)



Output Tracking and Inventory Management:

    • You are responsible for ensuring counts delivered by your team leads and line leads are accurate.

    • Ensures all SOPs for inventory management are being followed by all team leads, line leads, and associates (standard number of portions and meal bags in a tote, standard number of totes in a tower, tower labeling procedures)

    • Makes sure WIP is stored in proper location

    • Holds team leads and line leads accountable for delivering accurate counts

    • Enters production numbers into tracker and/or approves progress submitted by leads

    • Identifies possible issues with production counts and issues with tracker and raises them to production manager or shift manager



Promoting and Upholding Employee and Food Safety Procedures:

    • Ensures Line Lead / Go-Tos / QA are conducting a GMP check on all associates at the start of the shift and after lunch

    • Calls out and corrects GMP violations when they occur and serves as an example of proper GMPs

    • Understands the complete scope of GMPs

    • Makes sure working conditions are safe and that team is using safety standard methodologies (e.g. proper lifting technique)

    • Ensures all work areas and work surfaces are clean prior to starting production

    • Ensures work surfaces are properly sanitized when production team flows across activities

    • Conducts daily sanitation walkthrough with QA when requested

    • Ensures that no boxes are staged on any tables used in production



Training, Mentoring, and Culture:

    • Provides production representation to plant-wide, cross-functional initiatives

    • Facilitates and leads shift huddles to communicate safety topics, production plans, and GMPs

    • Works with team leads to help them better motivate and coach team of associates

    • Trains leads on all SOPs and actively coaches leads when SOPs are not executed

    • Problems solves with leads obstacles impacting production pace or planned activities arise

    • Manages conflict among employees as needed, but escalates more serious issues to the Shift Supervisor

    • Evaluates performance of leads and associates and provides performance feedback

    • Cultivates culture of mutual respect and demonstrates a Customer FIrst mentality



Post Production:

    • Takes ownership of production tracker, ensuring all progress is entered and accurate

    • Writes End of Shift report

    • Makes sure all required items are communicated to supervisors on the subsequent shift in the shift handoff



Requirements:

    • High school diploma (Bachelors degree preferred)

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for preventive maintenance and servicing of all food processing and packaging equipment. The maintenance supervisor is responsible for training machine operators on SOPs related to reducing downtime and performing daily preventative maintenance activities. The maintenance supervisor is also responsible for managing and executing facility repair projects and preventative maintenance.


Detailed Responsibilities

    • Understands that employee safety and food safety are the primary goals for the company and works in accordance with the companys safety regulations

    • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with sound safety practices and proper work methods or procedures; wears all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

    • Complies with all environmental laws and regulations for chemicals and lubricants as well as disposal and storage

    • Implements standard operating procedures for the maintenance of a clean and safe facility under the direction of the Facility Manager and National Safety Manager

    • Performs work in accordance with all quality systems requirements and understands what Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are and is willing and able to fully support these regulations



Machinery and Equipment Efficiency and Maintenance

    • Inspects plant machinery and equipment to ensure it is operating at peak efficiency

    • Trains all maintenance associates (mechanics) and machine operators on all capital equipment

    • Executes preventative maintenance program for all machinery and equipment and ensures machine operators and mechanics are trained on all aspects of the preventative maintenance program

    • Works with Facility Manager and production leadership to schedule and perform preventative maintenance, major repairs and temporary line setups

    • Works with Maintenance Manager to build and maintain spare parts inventory system

    • Maintains data on effectiveness of preventative maintenance program and works with the Maintenance Manager to refine and improve the program over time

    • Executes system maintenance in accordance with system maintenance schedules; ensures materials are available for scheduled repairs and emergencies

    • Able to research equipment parts manuals and provide detailed ordering information for purchasing clerk

    • Ensures work orders are timely and efficiently processed

    • Maintains records of work orders received and performed



Facility Maintenance

    • Ensures that plant is kept in good working order and in compliance with all safety requirements

    • Manages ongoing task list related to facility improvements and repairs

    • Works with maintenance associates (mechanics) to execute ongoing facility improvements and repairs

    • Assists Maintenance Manager with outsourcing of facility repair or improvement projects as needed

    • Maintains records related to facility improvements and repairs



Financial Management

    • Estimates materials, parts, tools and equipment needed for work assignments

    • Orders and picks up materials and supplies from outside vendors as appropriate, keeping track of actual costs



Personal Skills

    • Fosters an environment of collaboration and trust within the maintenance department and with other departments in an effort to maximize employee productivity, increase morale, retention, and minimize turnover

    • Maintains a good attendance record to ensure that there is no interruption to production or services to our customers

    • Schedules, supervises, and directs the work of maintenance associates

    • Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions for maintenance associates

    • Ensures maintenance associates are adequately trained.

    • Responds and addresses complaints in a timely and courteous manner

    • Maintains positive attitude and continually exhibits sense of urgency

    • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalency combined with minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

    • Background in PLC and industrial electricity and controls

    • HVAC certified

    • Experience with packaging equipment manufacturers such as Hayssen, Holmatic, Pearson, Osgood and Prodopak is preferred

    • Experience writing reports and ability to effectively communicate information to manager

The Supervisor must execute the production plan made by the Shift Manager and supervise the Team Leads, Line leads, and hourly associates throughout the shift. The Supervisor is responsible for managing the performance of the individuals reporting to their respective team which includes participating in hiring, having coaching discussions, delivering feedback, and conducting performance reviews. Supervisor must be able to oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output of leads and associates working on his or her team. Supervisors are also responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes. The supervisor must be able to manage and troubleshoot all technological tools used in production (e.g. production tracker, scanners, etc.). The supervisor is also expected to work closely with other functions within the facility to execute plant-wide initiatives.



Candidates must be able to work from 10am - 7:30pm.


Pre-Production Set Up:

    • The supervisor is responsible for arriving prior to the start of production to receive the days production plan from the shift manager. The supervisor must coordinate with his or her team leads to set up all tables and/or lines prior to the arrival of production associates:

    • Receives production targets from Shift manager manages delegation of production tasks to team leads and line leads, and ensures proper staffing for all tasks

    • Works with warehouse team to ensure all product required for production tasks has been dropped to the production floor in the quantities required for the production plan

    • Sets up for each activity according to standard operating procedures

    • Coaches team lead and line lead on set up processes and procedures to ensure that SOPs for table and line set up are followed

    • Ensures workstations are setup for each production activity (portioning, meal bagging) in a manner that correlates with production targets

    • Shares recommendations for improvements to safety, equipment, and/or SOPs with Continuous Improvement manager

    • Demonstrates leadership during adoption of new processes continually works to identify opportunities to gain efficiency and improve quality in production



Portioning and Meal Bagging:

    • The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the portioning and meal bagging tables / lines associated with production targets for multiple meals.

    • Inspects working area and holds team accountable for maintaining a clean, safe work environment and operating in a safe manner

    • Ensures all tables are operating according to Home Chef standard operating procedures

    • Ensures leads are properly utilizing production sheets

    • Ensures teams are on track to meet production targets for the day

    • Verifies that all meal bagging and portioning pods clearly understand whats expected of them in terms of output and quality standards

    • Identifies opportunities to improve portioning and meal bagging efficiency and shares ideas with Continuous Improvement team

    • Speaks professionally and respectfully to leads and associates and provides on-the-floor coaching and motivation to boost production pace and improve quality

    • Anticipates product and packaging shortage issues and works with warehouse and/or runners to deliver more product to the floor to prevent a production halt

    • Works with quality team to resolve issues identified related to food safety and/or product quality

    • Escalates quality issues that may result in future product shorts to shift manager and procurement

    • Takes responsibility for the accuracy of counts conducted by the leads

    • Coaches the leads on best practices related to counts

    • Demonstrates working knowledge of all production equipment and machinery (sprinter, PS-125, piston fillers) and can perform basic troubleshooting processes



Shipping:

    • The supervisor is responsible for overseeing shipping lines.

    • Inspects working area and holds team accountable for maintaining a clean, safe work environment and operating in a safe manner

    • Understands shipping labels sort and ensures sorted labels are properly stored and delivered to shipping lines

    • Works with warehouse team and runners to ensure all product required for shipping is present on the line and that sufficient replenishment quantities are available on the floor

    • Works with warehouse team to improve standard processes and procedures related to line set-up

    • Utilizes boxing call out sheet to verify line prior to the start of shipping

    • Follows shipping SOPs and coaches leads and associates on shipping line SOPs

    • Makes sure the shipping line remains organized throughout entire shift

    • Works with quality department to ensure appropriate levels of FSQA staffing on the line

    • Manages the pace of the shipping line, ensuring team is on pace to meet production targets

    • Demonstrates working knowledge of all shipping line equipment and technology and can perform basic troubleshooting procedures (scanners, case sealers, etc.)



Output Tracking and Inventory Management:

    • The supervisor is responsible for ensuring counts delivered by his or her team leads and line leads are accurate.

    • Ensures all SOPs for inventory management are being followed by all team leads, line leads, and associates (standard number of portions and meal bags in a tote, standard number of totes in a tower, tower labeling procedures)

    • Makes sure WIP is stored in proper location

    • Holds leads accountable for delivering accurate counts

    • Ensures counts are accurate and enters production numbers into tracker and/or approves progress submitted by leads

    • Identifies possible issues with production counts and issues with tracker and escalates them to production manager or shift manager



Promoting and Upholding Employee and Food Safety Procedures:

    • Ensures Leads / FSQA are conducting a GMP check on all his or her associates at the start of the shift and after lunch

    • Calls out and corrects GMP violations when they occur and serves as an example of proper GMPs

    • Understands the complete scope of GMPs

    • Makes sure working conditions are safe and that team is using safety best practices (e.g., proper lifting technique, proper storage of blue wheels, etc.)Ensures all work areas and work surfaces are clean prior to starting production

    • Ensures work surfaces are properly sanitized when production team transitions between activities

    • Conducts daily sanitation walkthrough with FSQA when requested

    • Ensures that product is staged in a food safe mannerSupports the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs



Training, Coaching, and Culture: Supervisors are expected to take people leadership seriously, spending almost a third of their time building and maintaining a high-performing, engaged team.

    • Facilitates and leads huddles with assigned team to communicate safety topics, production plans, GMPs and changes to processes

    • Works with their leads to help them better motivate and coach their assigned team of associates

    • Trains leads on their assigned team on all SOPs and actively coaches leads when SOPs are not executed

    • Coaches and works with leads on problem solving as obstacles impacting production pace, safety, quality, or planned activities arise

    • Manages conflict among employees on their assigned team as needed, but escalates more serious issues to the Shift Manager

    • Evaluates performance of their assigned team and provides performance feedback on an ongoing basis

    • Participates in the hiring/promotion process of associates and leads for their team

    • Cultivates culture of mutual respect and demonstrates a Safety First, Quality Always mentality

    • Is approachable and collaborative with all hourly production associates and leads, especially their team



Post Production:

    • Takes ownership of production tracker, ensuring all progress is entered and accurate

    • Works towards mastery of production tracking tools

    • Writes End of Shift report

    • Makes sure all required items are communicated to supervisors on the subsequent shift in the shift handoff

    • Minimum of 2+ years of successful supervisory or leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.

    • Cross-functional experience in 2 more departments (warehouse, production, quality, procurement etc.) preferred

    • Experience in developing team members through both leading and managing

    • Proficient on using tablets and PCs

    • Open availability to work weekend shifts

    • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation

    • Must have floor presence and be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours in a cold environment less 40 degrees
