Mama Lamees Cuisine is a catering company that serves authentic traditional Palestinian food. She currently works out of a shared commercial kitchen space but will soon be opening a kiosk at the Emeryville Public Market.

Come and learn the authentic food of Mama Lamees, who has lived and cooked in several Middle Eastern countries including Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar and Palestine. Her passion for food and cooking was a driving force in her journey through life, eventually bringing her here to San Francisco. Mama Lamees has developed a solid following in the Bay Area through her work with La Cocina, where she built her catering business from the ground up.   • The Catering Coordinator is responsible for working as a member of a cohesive operations team supporting the Director of Catering and sales team, as well as the General Manager to enable perfect event execution.   • Ensuring all event information in CaterXpert from the sales team is up to date and fully detailed prior to event/deadlines.

  • Review event floorplans, day of supervisor packets, pack lists and rental equipment to ensure all information is current and correctly distributed.

  • Responsible for communicating SRCG procedures, standards and expectations to all event staff when on-site. They will be responsible for communicating all pertinent event information to the culinary and operations teams and for completing the day of supervisor packet for use on site.

  • Assisting in the setup and execution of events

  • Ensure that event rentals have scheduled deliveries and pickups that are convenient for specialist or venue manage

  • Maintain calendar of events through Outlook and attend all necessary event meetings and conference calls.

  • Communicate with sales, culinary and booking staff, as needed, to ensure understanding of menus and client need

  • Responsible for the collection and submission of all payments and deposits as it relates to contracted events. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Associate Position at Eisenhauer's Catering and Events (EIS) in Sunnyvale, CA, an off-premise catering company. We are looking for individuals who have a basic understanding and are comfortable with food service. A strong ability to self-manage, comfortable driving catering vans, with a flexible weekly schedule consisting of weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. Shift schedule will be determined based on client event needs and company calendar. The Catering Associate will be reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor. Must be an independent self-starter with a good driving record. The candidate in this position will be spending most of their time planning, preparing, packing, executing corporate catering independently, lead server responsibilities at our off-premise events, daily account deliveries and setups, and assistance with orchestrating the deliveries of our daily catering events as well as inventory management. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Experience in catering logistics, rental handling, setup, and inventory, managing and instructing event personnel, strategic event troubleshooting, working in a cross-functional team environment.

Familiarization with Staffmate based programs, or other catering software, and google docs

A strong desire to exceed guest expectations

Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and evenings

Posses a proven off-premise catering execution record and history of effectively managing catering personnel

Two - Five years hospitality experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in fine dining and off-premise catering. (HS Equivalent 2-4 years)

Must be willing and able to travel locally as needed. Must have a valid driver's license.

The ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to analyze and interpret general business practices with clients and staff.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the EIS team.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

The ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form is required to successfully perform the essential duties described above.

Cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List.

Reports to: Kitchen Manager

Requirements/Responsibilities


  • Complete opening and closing checklists.

  • Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.

  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.

  • Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.

  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.

  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.

  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

  • Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.

  • Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages.

  • Uses our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products. Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employees.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty. Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.

  • At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel.

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

THE DETAILS:

Events and Catering Staff are primarily responsible for the hands on execution of events, table service duties as well as prep work and closeout tasks.
