Description:


AAA Carolinas is seeking applicants for the position of Car Care General Service Technician. This position performs minor repairs and lube services to passenger vehicles.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Perform oil changes and lubrication services to automobiles

  • Perform tire repairs and installation services to automobiles

  • Perform any other minor repairs to automobiles as assigned by a Lead Tech or service writer, according to his/her abilities

  • Gain on the job experience in all areas of automotive repair and strive to obtain ASE Certifications. Which are paid for by AAA. When these certifications are gained team members are awarded bonus money.

  • Transporting members in company van to work or home

  • Picking up parts as needed

  • Assist upper level technicians as needed and for experience

  • Keeping service work area clean and safe

  • Various miscellaneous duties as assigned by Lead Tech or management

  • Assists other level technicians as requested

  • Performs other duties as assigned

SUMMARY:

As a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for executing maintenance tasks, which require an in-depth technical knowledge of automated equipment. The technician will troubleshoot and repair complex equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery, analyze failures or equipment technical loss causes, and make or suggest improvements as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical and Instrumental, Electro-Mechanical, Automated Manufacturing Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology

  • 2 years of relevant experience also accepted

  • Experience in production (preferred)

  • Proven experience and technical knowledge in highly-automated manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry

  • Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and skill set

  • Basic hand / power tool familiarity

  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications or work instructions

  • Knowledge of and experience in industrial electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience changing out bearing and motors (preferred)

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (i.e. SAP or Maximo)

  • PLC and Siemens system education and/or experience (preferred)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and program PLCs

  • Robotics (ABB, DURR) experience (preferred)

  • Pumping system maintenance experience (preferred)

  • Conveyor system maintenance experience (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written

  • Proficient teamwork orientation with ability to work independently

  • Ability to work any shift (weekends, holidays and overtime)

  • Must be able to work up to 12 hour shifts

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform all maintenance activities related to his/her assigned action area, including planned tasks regarding predictive and preventive maintenance

  • Apply problem solving skills to reduce the consequences of failure

  • Take initiative and participate actively in problem analysis, identification of root causes and suitable permanent solutions

  • Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals

  • Complete administrative tasks using the Computerized Maintenance Management System

  • Support operators by providing training

  • Be responsible for applying her/his maintenance experience and competence

  • Be responsible for the timely and qualitative execution of maintenance tasks

  • Be responsible for active participation in troubleshooting

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate safety policies and procedures

  • Perform duties as assigned

WHO YOU ARE



  • Required qualifications

    • At least 2 years of automotive repair experience

    • Ability to work flexible work schedules to include Saturdays

    • Willingness to progress within the Automotive Technician career path

    • Possess own tools for use in shop

    • 4 ASE certifications preferred

  • Perform oil changes and lubrication services to automobiles

We are currently seeking Under-car/General Auto Technicians to become a part of the AXP team. AXP is a 3-location auto repair company, with two locations in Randolph and one new location opening Summer 2018 in Braintree. Each location has several job openings. Our shops are fast-paced and focus on the following repairs: tires, brakes, exhaust and alignments. However, we also venture into other repairs depending on the vehicle. Welding is a plus. We will consider applicants who are enrolled/graduated from technical/trade schools. This also means we are willing to partially train someone who already has basic knowledge/experience. Wages vary anywhere from $15-30/hour depending on your qualifications and experience level. Overtime is available weekly. Also, we are seeking licensed a Class A Massachusetts vehicle inspector for our inspection bay in Braintree. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of quality diagnostics and repairs and/or restorations on a variety of vehicles both foreign and domestic. The job will involve everything from minor repairs and maintenance up to and including complete nut and bolt mechanical restorations on every system (engine, drive-train, steering, suspension, and electrical). We need someone with the skills, attention to detail, and organization to be able to handle every job assigned to them from start to finish. Job Duties will include:


- Diagnose, repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, electrical, fuel systems, and components, etc.


- Conduct safety inspections, test drives and make necessary adjustments to controls and systems.


- Diagnose and repair engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace the respective parts and components when needed.


- Perform routine maintenance including fluids changing, greasing of components, engine tune up, tire rotations, replacement of filters, and ensuring the reliability of vehicle braking systems.


- Acquiring estimates for replacement parts and services, and reporting these estimates to the shop supervisor for authorization.


- Record vehicle services and repairs on a given format and supply this information to the shop supervisor.


- Keep a clean and safe working environment for yourself and other employees.


 


Qualifications/Requirements:


3-4 years of diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical automotive systems.


Knowledge of Classic automobiles.


You must be able to supply your own tools needed to complete the jobs given to you.
