Our Automotive Repair Technician Bs are dedicated technicians who:


  • Perform the following repairs: suspension and steering diagnosis and repair, brakes diagnosis and repair, including ABS/traction control, electrical diagnosis and repair, heating and air conditioning diagnosis and repairs.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of specialized skills, and continue to develop additional technical skills, to enable flexibility in work assignments.

  • Maintain a clean, well-organized work area.

  • Properly maintain tools and equipment and follow safety procedures as outlined in the safety information supplied by each equipment manufacturer and corporate safety policies.

  • Organize the work presented and plan for the highest efficiency in the performance of all job functions, including vehicle movement

  • Accurately perform repairs and maintenance on all vehicles as specified in manufacturer-designed procedures or accepted industry practices.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Ability to accurately repair vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostic equipment and provide technical guidance at a level normally acquired through the completion of three (3) years as an automotive technician.

  • National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or car dealer certification in at least three categories to include: Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, or the equivalent knowledge and experience with the ability to attain the required certifications within 12 months of hire.

  • State Safety and Emissions Inspectors license - as required by state location is preferred . R134A recycling certificate.

  • Ability to lift up to a maximum of 75lbs, and stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license with an excellent driving record and the ability to operate passenger vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks with automatic and manual transmissions.

  • Satisfactory employment screening results.

Repairman IV


We are seeking a Repairman to become a part of our team! 


Responsibilities:



  • Repair, modify, and upgrade rail cars in a timely fashion

  • Use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools and jacks

  • Daily assistance with housekeeping

  • The ability to organize time and priorities to meet production efficiency standards 

  • Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisor


Education and Experience:



  • H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent 

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; required

  • Must have a valid driver's license 

  • Previous auto body or rail car experience; preferred

  • Welding and fabrication experience; preferred


Physical Requirements:



  • Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds safely

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  • Ability to handle physical workload and perform physical activities that require sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching overhead, reaching below waist, twisting, climbing, gripping tools or objects, handling of materials

  • Mental Factors: decision-making and reasoning; intermediate (such as determining when parts should be repaired); planning and scheduling


Working Schedule and Conditions:



  • 8 to 10 hour shifts with the understanding that work hours and rest days may change regularly

  • 8 to 10 hours/day you may be exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold/humidity, working at heights regularly, and working around moving machinery

  • Exposure to welding and burning fumes, odors, dust, gases, and uncomfortable noises from welding, burning, and impact tools

  • Driving automotive equipment occasionally

  • Working with oil and grease regularly

  • Working with vibrations regularly

Vehicle Repair Specialist


 


Job Purpose:


Vehicle Repair Specialists will be responsible for reviewing each work order for approval, generating an accurate PO, releasing rental system holds once work is complete, ensuring all repair documents are stored properly, and receiving on the POs in Oracle.


Key Results:


· Ensure vendors are performing requested repairs at agreed upon pricing. Evaluate additional repair requests for validity and approve as required


· Ensure all P.O.s are completed correctly and assist vendors as necessary to be certain they are paid timely


· Create, improve, and track key vendor productivity & cost metrics to drive efficiencies, and improve OOS and compliance to maintenance program


· Drive process excellence in the areas of preventive maintenance and repair programs and processes to ensure a consistent standardized approach across the region that delivers best in class performance regardless of fleet age.


· Drive customer satisfaction score results related to fleet condition and lead the development of programs designed to increase customer satisfaction associated with vehicle condition


· Optimize the use of Hertz internal maintenance resources as possible


· Ensure repairs are vended to make most efficient use of vehicle manufacturer warranty programs, including free PMs, warranty work covered by OEM


· Work with Procurement Department to identify cost savings initiatives related to vendors and part purchases.


· Manage vended shops deliverables, ensure capacity to deliver expected OOS results.


· Lead initiatives internally and externally to minimize maintenance costs, reduce processing time, improve fleet availability, improve vehicle quality standards


· Control maintenance expenditures, including the control of transportation costs, while maintaining vehicle quality and utilization within industry standards
