The Opportunity: As a full-time Infant/Toddler Teacher on the Stanford University campus you are responsible for nurturing each child’s creativity and curiosity on the path of growth and early learning. Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units, including 3 units in Infant/Toddler Development (required)

  • 1+ year Infant/Toddler Education Experience (preferred)

  • Knowledge of early childhood education and child development

  • Knowledge and experience with emergent curriculum - a plus

  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children

  • Commitment to promoting the mission and values of ICRI

  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for education and learning

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • US Work Authorization and excellent references

  • Submission of TB clearance and background check

  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

Established in 1985, Hamilton Families is San Francisco's leading service provider to homeless families, with carefully designed programs to prevent homelessness, provide shelter and stability, return families to permanent housing and support the well-being of children experiencing homelessness. Program and Position Overview

Hamilton Families Transitional Housing in the North of Panhandle neighborhood houses and supports 20 families at high risk for chronic homelessness for up to 18 months. Families receive intensive social services to identify and address factors contributing to their homelessness to enable them to return to stable, independent housing and economic self-sufficiency. The program provides case management, employment readiness activities, job retention support, intensive housing search

support and substance abuse recovery support.

The Children's Services Associate is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a wide variety of activities for children ranging in age from infancy to teens.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise children’s activities including playtime, snacks, tutoring, arts and crafts and field trips.

• Set up and clean up after children’s program activities, and maintain high safety and cleanliness standards in program.

• Work with Coordinator to develop and facilitate children’s and volunteer events and activities.

• Assist the Coordinator in outreach to potential new volunteers.

• Assist the Coordinator in contacting volunteers and maintaining communication with volunteers regarding Volunteer Program needs.

• Consistently evaluate children’s program activities and provide feedback to the Coordinator.

• Observe children’s program volunteers and assist the Coordinator in evaluating their performance.

• Maintain communication with families regarding opportunities for children within the program and within the community.

• Model and facilitate appropriate behavior for participants and staff, respond to participant requests in a professional and courteous manner, and observe and adhere to participant confidentiality standards.

• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including contacting appropriate staff and supervisor(s), interacting with police, fire and medical personnel as needed.

• Actively participate in staff development and staff training as required.

• Participate in coordinating and overseeing the afterschool program, including providing transportation, leading activities and homework help, and supporting children academically, socially and emotionally.

• Participate in weekly case review and other meetings.

• Assist in coordinating partnerships and on site programming.

• Capture participants data on salesforce.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a concentration in education, child development, social services, or a related field.

• 12 core semester units in early childhood education / development or must meet alternate California Community Care Licensing requirements for School Age Teachers. More info available here: www.ccld.ca.gov.

• Prior experience with children and/or families in an afterschool, classroom or preschool setting preferred.

• 6 months experience in any of the following:

o Licensed childcare

o Teacher assistance in Elementary/Middle school

o Paid or volunteer work in school guidance or counseling programs

o Paid or volunteer work in Physical Ed or youth development

o Paid or volunteer work experience in human services

• TB (Tuberculosis) clearance, and fingerprint imaging (Criminal Background Clearance and Child Abuse Index Clearance) required post offer.

• Driving License & DMV Report required

• Sensitivity to the needs of homeless families; able and willing to work with diverse staff and clients.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, etc.

• CPR and First Aid certification required within first 6 months of hire.

• Essential job functions include using a telephone, working at a standard computer terminal; ability to follow reasonable ergonomic accommodations; sit and stand for long intervals; reach, bend, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds depending on position; and walk up and down stairs several times a day.

After Care Art Counselor 

The Art Counselor will lead art activities during our After Care Program. The Art Counselor's most important goal is to carry out art projects with our After Care campers. Our This Land is Your Land summer camps, and Toyology after-school enrichment classes feature hands-on projects which delight and engage children while making complex science concepts easily understandable. The Summer Camp Director/School-Year Program Assistant position is a full-time, long-term job opportunity where you can gain meaningful leadership experience while making a difference in the lives of children. Our mission is to provide children with experiential learning opportunities that stimulate curiosity, and leave them with the knowledge that science is fun!

In this role, you will provide leadership, teach hands-on science projects, and oversee daily activities in close partnership with camp counselors, teachers and other staff, to create an outstanding experience for campers, students and their families in the summer and throughout the school year.

We are looking for candidates with demonstrated leadership experience in recreation, youth programs, and environmental/outdoor education. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a positive and energetic attitude. Experience working with children is a must. Interest in science and nature is strongly preferred. You must have your own transportation and be reliable.

CAMP RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Teach daily science lessons and give instructions for building science projects to large groups of campers (we will provide written instructions and train you how to teach lessons)

*Provide leadership, guidance, and support to camp counselors, staff, campers, and families

*Be a positive role model for camp counselors and staff

*Oversee and facilitate all camp activities, including (but not limited to): science projects, art, games, hiking, swimming, outdoor play, music, snacks, and lunch

*Team up with camp counselors and staff to help create a fantastic experience for all

*Assist with daily set-up and clean-up before and after camp

*Lead weekly staff meetings

SCHOOL-YEAR RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Administrative responsibilities at our Castro Valley office, including taking phone registrations, light data entry, and other duties as assigned

*Manage a one-hour after-school class of 15-30 students (with an assistant)

*Teach science concepts from a lesson plan

*Instruct children how to build projects from step-by-step instructions

*Conduct roll call and sign kids in and out of class

*Interact with parents, teachers, and school staff

*Set up and clean up the classroom

*Transport all materials to and from class

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have a reliable vehicle with space to transport program materials, and a clean driving record

*Must have leadership qualities and feel comfortable managing large groups of campers as well as staff

*Must be organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and flexible

*Outdoor education experience is a plus

*Prior experience as a camp director strongly preferred

*Able to communicate, multi-task, and resolve issues and challenges creatively

*Must have experience working with children

*Background in education and prior experience teaching is a plus

*BA/BS preferred

Pet Camp, San Francisco's premier pet lodging facility, is looking for dog and cat fanatics to join our team! As a member of an award-winning pet lodging team, you will be taking up to 160 dogs and 80 cats out to play every day, as well as caring for and attending to their every need and wish; after all, Pet Camp is where pets do what pets love!. Dogs and cats are messy- you'll be cleaning a lot and doing dishes and laundry. We have every modern convenience to make cleaning easier, but be prepared for lots of hard work!


*You must have personal or professional experience with dogs and cats. It takes a very special person to truly understand the great honor and responsibility involved in caring for furry family members, and Pet Camp is committed to only employing the best of the best! Counselors start at different levels depending on prior professional pet care experience, which means that if you only have personal experience with dogs and cats, no problem; we're happy to train you to reach each level as desired. Counselors who demonstrate exceptional aptitude with dog handling may even qualify to join our canine enrichment team! And yes, you've got to love and be comfortable handling cats as well. If you have cat allergies or are "not a cat person," then Pet Camp is not the fit for you.
