PRN-Cafeteria Worker


Reporting to the Culinary Manager, the Cafeteria Worker is responsible for meal preparation, food supply, and ensuring the daily cleaning of the food service area and dining room in accordance with all related policies and requirements.  Position may include supervision and training in food services to patients assigned to assist in the kitchen.


SCHEDULE:


As needed 7AM -7 PM, any day of the week. 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


 



  • Maintain inventory of kitchen and food supplies, as well as all related logs (i.e.,temperature and all others)

  • Ensures timely and appropriate preparation of 3 meals and two snacks per day as scheduled per menu.

  • Maintains food handler permit and all required and requested certifications.

  • Assists with kitchen inspections, health department inspections, fire department inspections, and documentation of kitchen equipment checks and verification.Routinely inspects and ensures all equipment is running in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Provide patient supervision and training in food services when patients are in the kitchen and dining room.

  • Follow routines for ensuring all food items are of quality content and will ensure proper rotation of food items.

  • Provide specialized menus for events.  Provide special needs diets as needed for patients.

  • Maintains and submits documentation in a complete and timely fashion to meet agency standards and funding requirements. 

  • Is compliant with all NSLP standards and reporting requirements attends training as requested and required.

  • Assists with the planning, ordering, and stocking of food and kitchen supplies.

  • Follow policy and procedure when preparing, cooking, and serving meals according to Phoenix House policy and procedures, which reflect the minimum expectations according to health department codes as well as the National School Lunch program.

  • Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time

  • Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings

  • Adheres to and promotes the Phoenix House Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS



  • High school diploma required

  • A minimum of 3 years of food preparation and kitchen experience is preferred. 

  • Food Handlers Certificate required SERV Safe certification.

  • Must maintain a valid Texas Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy

Position: Cook


Location : Falling Waters, WV


 


Position Summary:


To prepare meals and snacks in accordance with menus planned by the Director of Support Services and approved by a Dietitian. The cook is responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions in the kitchen, coolers, freezers, serving area and dining hall at all times. He/she supervises, teaches and role models for youth.


 


Essential Functions:


·         Prepare meals according to the menu and Director of Support Service.


·         Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.


·         Prepare meals for special functions and packed meals.


·         Check items that are delivered, unpack and store them in the appropriate area.


·         Keep production records for all meals prepared and served as well as for the special functions.


·         Communicate with the Director of Support Service WV & PA weekly for food and other supplies.


·         Record cooler, freezer, and food temperatures daily on the forms provided.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Sunday through Saturday, depending on the shift, hours of operation can be 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work. Eligible for flex schedule. Essential for snow.

Job Description


We work with the Grandview School district to staff different positions within the cafeteria. This particular position would be working in the kitchen assisting with the food prep and then moving to the food line serving trays of food to the students, Once meal is complete, trays are returned, washed and then put away.


Must be available to work between the hours of 6:30am-2:30pm Monday - Friday.


The pay is $10 Hourly, and we work when school is in session and you are off when kids are out of school.


This position is great for college students, retiree's, moms who have school aged children or anyone that fits the job description as described above.
