This position will be responsible for providing individual, couples, and family counseling as well as facilitating support groups for adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors and their significant others at Resilience offices, and occasionally off-site. Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:


The Community Technology Instructor is responsible for meeting the goals of the CPS Chicago Connected project by helping connect CPS students with free high-speed internet service. This individual is responsible for recording notes on the CPS database for each family. The second phase of the project is Digital Literacy; the individual will conduct basic computer trainings and provide education on how to use the internet effectively to newly connected CPS families via virtual remote sessions or possibly in-person classes. This individual will facilitate and encourage a positive learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential through the broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum. In addition, the Community Technology Instructor will support the IT department when needed by troubleshooting computer related issues with staff.

  1. Responsible for contacting eligible CPS families via phone to inform them about free internet and they will contact Comcast/RCN directly to sign-up.

  2. Maintain and track records of each family by documenting information on the CPS database.

  3. Document and report a weekly number of reached families and their decision on participation in Chicago Connected.

  4. Provide support and assistance to families during the enrollment process.

  5. Plan and submit community-specific broadband adoption and digital literacy training plan to for approval. The plan must include the following elements: outreach activities, digital literacy workshop offerings, and an itemization of planned expenditures to support the execution of the plan.

  6. Submit all relevant outreach and digital literacy workshop data in accordance with the contractually outlined data submission schedule.

  7. Attend all preliminary trainings for Chicago Connected as well as monthly calls with other community-based orgs to share ideas, challenges, and best practices.

  8. Assist in generating a basic, intermediate, and advanced computer training curriculum for trainings.

  9. Conduct trainings to families via virtual platform or possibly in person.

  10. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet todays technology needs and interests.

  11. Based on the database, coordinate training schedule and deliver trainings working with CPS personnel.

  12. Connect and refer households to critical support and resources.

  13. Provide technical support to the IT Department when needed.

  14. Reports to Information Technology Manager to analyze the goal, scope and deliverables of the project.


 


In addition to the responsibilities listed above, all Gads Hill Center employees are responsible for the following:



  1. Participating in agency outreach and recruitment events, including evenings and weekends.

  2. Participating in civic engagement activities that advance the mission of Gads Hill Center.

  3. Ability to travel between sites.

  4. Lift equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds.

  5. Performing other duties as assigned.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Bachelors in Computer Science Degree or equivalent preferred.

  2. Bilingual Spanish- Strongly preferred

  3. Experience in developing and executing in a teaching environment.
