We are looking for a Bike Mechanic / Educator to work with our innovative program designed to help young people use their bikes more often.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: We host bicycle repair clinics across the entire Bay Area.
ABOUT THE POSITION: The Bike Mechanic Educator repairs bicycles while educating the owner about the repair process. This position is supervised by the Lead Mechanic. Transportation to the job site is considered paid time and can be provided for staff in the East Bay.
6 months experience working with youths, or equivalent
6 months experience repairing bikes in a shop setting, or equivalent
Professional, patient, and outgoing personality
Physical ability to lift 40 pounds
Experience working with diverse populations in the SF Bay Area and sensitivity to the issues faced by low-income communities
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION: Scheduling is flexible. A typical shift is 6-8 hours Tues-Sun. The pay rate is DOE and ranges from $20-24/hr. Paid Vacation is accrued at 2 weeks per year when working FTE. A health stipend is provided for full time positions. Currently, Part Time and On Call positions are available. There will be opportunities to transition from Part Time to Full time in the future.

Position available immediately: Bicycle Mechanic, MINIMUM of 2 years in shop experience.
Must have knowledge of suspension, hydraulic brakes, all brands and models of components.
Responsibilities include: Everything from flat tire repair to full tune ups. Suspension overhauls and brake bleeds.
We are an extremely busy, family oriented shop. Some sales experience required.
$18-$26 per hour for qualified applicants. Weekends mandatory.

We are looking to add one or two new faces to our growing business! Qualified candidates include someone who is or has been a professional bike mechanic for several years and is of exceptional problem solving ability. You will be expected to be comfortable in all bike repair and maintenance procedures and have a deep knowledge of bicycle products and parts. Prior certification is a plus but not required.
Candidates must also have a clean driving record and a positive, welcoming attitude.
Part time bicycle mechanic needed at the East Bay's premier cargo bike dealer, Blue Heron Bikes. We are a high quality, independent, full service shop, specializing in bicycle transportation.
Job consists of bike assembly, repair and retail service. Mechanical experience in a bicycle shop is required.
