WINE & BEER SALES POSITION


DOPS, Inc., a family-owned & operated wine, beer, and spirits distributor is looking for a full-time Sales Representative to join our family in Western Maryland . We’re looking for someone who loves to sell and has a passion for craft beer and great wine.


As a small company each of the DOPS Sales Staff is expected to wear a variety of hats, allowing her or him to gain experience in many areas of the industry. With our small and growing operation, you’ll be getting in on the ground floor – but with over 30 years of company experience as a foundation. Sales representatives are expected to hit the street selling to both on and off premise accounts, marketing your products, putting on events, and attending weekly company tasting and supplier meetings. This position will afford you the independence of an entrepreneur, giving you the personal and professional experience of building a business in your sales territory. You will also be expected to be a team player and help the management team achieve company sales goals.


Our chosen candidate will be responsible for promoting high value products from all over the world: we have 130+ wine brands in our portfolio which focus on quality and value; we have one of the best craft beer portfolios in the area, with over 75 craft breweries represented. The best perk of the job is getting to be a part of and taste from some of the most established wineries & breweries in the world.


We offer competitive salary with eventual conversion to commission (when territory generates more commission than salary). We offer monetary support for cell phone and car use. We offer medical and dental insurance and a 401K plan with generous matching funds.


The potential sales representative should have some of these qualifications:


College graduate


Retail, restaurant or wholesale wine, beer or spirit experience


Marketing & Sales background


A passion for craft beers, wine and spirits

Reliable transportation


Technologically proficient


Outgoing personality

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, well-organized, and possess excellent time management skills. Restaurant/bar/retail/sales experience is a definite plus but not required. Do you have a passion for craft beer, spirits and/or wine?


South Minneapolis' premier craft beer and liquor store, Elevated Beer Wine & Spirits is looking to add another part time (2-5 shifts/week) position to its team. Applicant must have flexible availability including evenings and weekends.


We are looking for a hard working, detail oriented, self starter with an interest in craft beer, wine and/or spirits. Job will include stocking, customer service, ringing on a register, general cleaning and other assigned tasks. Opportunity for advancement for the right person depending on experience, availability and performance.


Must be able to lift 20-30lbs (beer/wine/spirits cases) repeatedly. Knowledge of craft beer as well as wine and spirits is a plus. Company Overview:


Mexcor International is headquarted in Houston, TX with distribution centers in Texas, California, Florida, and Louisiana. The company was founded in 1989 and has experienced explosive growth with its beer, wine, and liquor offerings. The company is seeking a dynamic leader to join its sales team as described below.


 


Position Summary:
Liquor, wine, and beer sales representative to service chain liquor stores, grocery stores, and independent broad-market retailers. Responsibilities include servicing stores and keeping company products fully stocked, well-marketed & merchandised.


 


In respect to the broad market accounts, responsibilities include selling products and expanding the distribution of our brands in restaurants, bars, and retailers, as well as maintaining and building existing relationships with customers and key accounts.


 


Role Responsibilities:


CHAIN ACCOUNTS


• Develop relationships and establish credibility with retail chain store wine/liquor managers and other store personnel in assigned territory. Selling in new items as well as displays and current items.


• Setting up case stacks, displays, POS material and educating customers on brands. Also, occasionally conducting in-store tastings, as well as hand-selling at applicable chain locations.


• Inventory, refill and re-merchandise existing displays of product as needed or as instructed by store manager.


• Correct any pricing issues, inventory problems and report sales opportunities to District Sales Manager.


 


BROAD MARKET ACCOUNTS


• Develop, maintain and grow the sales of the company in the assigned territory.


• Conduct regular sales calls to assigned accounts to develop and maintain customer relations and satisfaction with service provided.


• Call on all accounts on a systematic basis as directed by District Sales Manager.


• Work in the market to build strong relationships with off and on premise Key Accounts.


• Determine new accounts for product placement.


• Keep all customers advised of current sales trends, promotions/deals/programs and special pricing.


• Participate in supplier market visits, ride-with’s with management and work-with’s with suppliers.


• Maintain Presentation Book.


• Open new retail accounts as well as aggressively pursuing new restaurant accounts to place our beer, wine and liquor products.


 


Qualifications and Experience:


• Must be at least 21 years of age.


• Sales experience within the wine, beer and spirits distribution industry in the state of Louisiana


• Wine knowledge and experience is a plus.


• Professional with a positive attitude, great organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a highly competitive environment.


• Ability to establish working relationships with accounts, both chain and broad market, in the territory as well as the determination to aggressively grow and expand territory.


• Self-Motivated & Goal orientated with proven track record of achieving sales and profit goals, distribution objectives and creating positive relationships.


• Possess a cell phone, dependable vehicle, valid driver license, proof of state registration and insurance and an acceptable driving record.


• Preferably Bachelor’s Degree (in Business or related field is a plus)


• Must be open to working occasional weekend hours.


• Ability to lift, push and pull several cases on a regular basis.


• Must be computer literate with the ability to operate Microsoft Office.
