We are looking to hire baristas for our 2327 Broadway location, next to the Impact Hub - Oakland, to prepare and serve beautiful coffee to the people, and we need your help to do it. We are currently hiring for part-time hourly positions who will report to our Cafe Manager. Availability on Tuesday and Friday for an opening shift from 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM is required. Broadway hours are the following: Open Monday - Friday 7 AM - 4 PM, and Saturday and Sundays from 8 AM - 4 PM.

In the role of Barista, your responsibilities would include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. General Accountabilities:

Greet customers, encourage to try our coffees, including those new to them.
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages.
Operate a sophisticated 3-group semi-automatic Faema Teorema espresso machine.
Operate different coffee grinders, each designed for a different type of coffee drink.
Prepare our signature espresso-based coffees, including the "legendary" Medleno Mocha.
Prepare slow brewed Turkish, Greek, aka Arabic coffees.
Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions as requested.
Serve foods: Muffins, biscotti, sandwiches, salads, and bagels.

Job Qualifications

Prior barista experience preferred but not mandatory.
Exceptional customer service, friendly demeanor.
