In order to perform the basic job duties, you must be able to do the following with reasonable or no accommodations:

Job Description


We are a hip cafe that serves trendy snacks and drinks with cult-following. We're looking for coffee and food lovers to join our crew at our new store in West Loop, Chicago. The ideal barista should be passionate about coffee, tea, food and creating incredible guest experiences grounded in respect and empathy. Don't have prior coffee, food or service experience? Don't sweat it, because this is not all we're looking for. We're more interested in who you are and what you care about.


Essential Functions

  • Greet customers with the warmest smile

  • Educate customers of all our products by answering all the questions they might have while presenting our menu

  • Prepare and sell coffee and tea drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as espresso, espresso latte, cappuccino etc.

  • Maintain high quality and consistent products

  • Accurately process transactions in the POS system

  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.

  • Cup and taste coffee and tea regularly to excel familiarity with product standards.

  • Communicate with team members and management to improve service

  • Support your team in keeping the cafe running smoothly: the tasks may vary but include washing dishes, clearing tables,sweeping, mopping and organizing bar area.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 2 years of experience of working in a coffee shop or restaurants

  • Be able to dial in espresso machine and serve a selection of delicious coffee in a variety of different brewing methods including but not limited to: espresso, pour over, and cold brew

  • Key skills required to set your grinder, make espresso and foam and texture milk for Latte and cappuccinos.

  • Latte art is a MUST

  • Stay knowledgeable about our current coffee and food menu through tastings, cuppings and information provided to you by your Lead Barista

  • Ability to lift, pull, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. For example, you will be handling bags of coffee beans, coffee kegs, crates of milk, tub of dishes and trash bins

Eat Me, Milk Me (EMMM) is a concept store located in West Loop, Chicago that houses curated designs of object and garment + fun Asian snacks and drinks. Driven by aesthetic and good taste, the concept store itself is a sensory experience that never bores; specially curated seasonal collection will be available in both design series and food menu. EMMM is made possible by an ecosystem of global young designers, artists, and artisans.

The answer is simple: We stand for premium tea beverages, espresso drinks, and tasty but healthy Asian food. We will be the first one who is serving organic special milk tea with sea salt foam on the top in Chicago area. We want to introduce our milk tea beverages, George Howell coffee and freshly made asian trendy food to people in Chicago and break cultural barriers. We also want to change the way people thought of milk tea: no artificial ingredients and added preservatives. We only use organic milk, premium loose-leaf tea in our products. We also want to bring George Howell coffee bean in Chicago. We want to educate Starbucks fans to know who created their favorite drinks, Frappuccino. We want to open up the milk tea and in-house daily made Asian trendy tapas experience for everyone.



Our tea selections are sourced globally and mainly from the local tea farms in China. All of our single origin teas are imported from China. We set the standard for quality. In order to bring our customers the freshest, best-tasting teas on earth. Our herbal tea blend are from local tea farms here in the US. The reason we do this is to ensure the freshest quality of our herbal floral tea since most herbal and flowers have much shorter shelf life. Each blend is handcrafted in small batches to ensure that you get the freshest product possible.


George Howell Coffee

The creator of the world’s most famous coffee beverage drink, Frappuccino (bought by Starbucks) is an American entrepreneur and one of the pioneers of the specialty-coffee movement in the United States in the early 1970s. He was the founder of The Coffee Connection, a high-end coffee retailer based in Boston, Massachusetts which was acquired by the Starbucks Corporation in 1994 and which formed the nexus of their expansion into the Boston area. He is an expert on single-origin coffee and is also the founder of George Howell Coffee.
