Rasa Caffe, near Ashby BART, is looking for enthusiastic and upbeat applicants who are friendly and outgoing. Applicant must be capable of treating guests with kindness and respect. We are very busy even with the Shelter (Corona V-19) still in place.

Applicant must have a flexible schedule and be open to learning and willing to commit to up  3-4 shifts per week. A six-month to one-year minimum commitment is preferred.

Retail and cashiering experience is required as is experience with specialty coffee and use of an espresso machine . Training will be offered to qualified applicants.

We are a small coffee & tea establishment. There will be incentives as the coffee bar grows.

Responsibilities of Café Team Members:

Team player capable of working in a small space


  • High standard of customer service; positive demeanor

  • opening and closing cafe shifts

  • working within cafe guidelines on espresso calibration particular to our cafe and espresso bar etiquette.  Knowledge of Latte art the  aesthetics of the process.

  • Work with Wise Sons restaurant teams to ensure product execution and hospitality exceed expectations


    • Coordinate trainings for Wise Sons hourly and management staff



  • Manage coffee equipment maintenance vendor, working with Wise Sons managers and partners

  • Work with Culinary team to develop and implement new product pipeline for beverage program 


    • Espresso drinks at applicable locations

Looking for a few more people to work the line at our busy cafe.  

Baker & Commons opened in May 2018 and is a favorite in the neighborhood.  We are serving high quality food in a fast paced environment.  There are opportunities to cross train as a barista, cashier and line cook so that everyone can help out when needed.  

We are preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner from behind our front counter. We make everything from scratch and our baked goods are made in house.  

If you have a passion for great food, serving others and enthusiasm to work in a bustling environment this is the job for you!  Experience in a cafe, kitchen or restaurant is preferred, and you will be trained in how to cook our menu.  

Our breakfast menu includes poached eggs, avocado toast, bakery items and other breakfast specials.  We serve sandwiches, salads and soup at lunch and some entree meal kits for dinner. 

You will work closely with our chef and other line staff to maintain an organized, efficient operation.

Food discounts of 20% on your days off and 100% discount on your working days.  Schedule can be flexible with some day shifts and some night shifts. We are open from 9am-6:30pm, but will be shifting to 7am-8pm hours of operation and we are allowed to offer dine in service. Most shifts are 6-8 hours long with a half hour unpaid meal break.

JOB DESCRIPTION:The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. He/she is also responsible for educating customers about our premium coffees and teas. The barista fulfills any other duties the store manager, assistant manager or shift supervisor assigns and represents our company in a professional manner. Responsibilities:


  • Arrives in proper uniform and adheres to all grooming standards.


  • Acts as the front line customer service representative, smiling, greeting customers, ringing their order in a fast, hospitable manner and creating a lasting impression.


  • Maintains a clean, safe environment by constantly being aware/checking to assure that the POS area and overall caf is clean and stocked.


  • Ensures that gloves are worn at all times when handling food.


  • Demonstrates hospitality, respect and kindness toward customers and fellow team members.


  • Merchandise products, check for quality, ensures presentation and restocks (brewing coffee, sandwich making, etc.).


  • Provides service that is fast, timely and accurate by communicating, organizing tasks, and teamwork (assisting other CSRs with customers).


  • Suggestive sells and keeps customers informed and aware of products, promotions and other services (e.g., catering, etc.).


  • Follows all cash handling procedures as outlined. Understands that failure to do so can result in immediate termination.


  • Assists in financial accountability by correctly recording orders, receiving/giving change, and counting the drawer.


  • Thanks the customers and invite them to return.


  • Demonstrates the knowledge and experience to be able to perform the duties of all the different work stations, including coffee, salad, bakery, sandwich preparation, and cleaning, etc.


  • Acts as a role model with customers and staff, and provide on-the-job training for new CSRs.


  • Works with others in a team to support operations, standards and concept essence.


  • Is flexible and posses the ability to deal with changes, difficult customers and emergencies/problems in the cafe.
