Barista:

We are looking for an experienced Barista for morning and afternoon shifts, including the weekend. 25 hrs / week

Qualifications:

You must be friendly , have an outgoing personality, and have a can-do attitude.

You must be able to take your job seriously, be mature, and have a professional appearance

Must be able to multi-task

Must be punctual at all times.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time (4-6 hrs)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare various traditional Espresso drinks, including Latte, Mocha Cappuccino, Traditional Machiato, Espresso shots

Open and close the cafe

Serve at the Beer and Wine Bar

Greet guests, take orders via POS system

Follow and maintain local Health Code

Wash dishes, maintain coffee bar and be able to work under pressure.

Stocking, Cleaning

Basically, if you are head strong, then this position might be right for you. This is a permanent position. Exact schedule and compensation can be discussed during the interview.

We work to music and jam out some great food stuff-- paid meal breaks and food provided regardless of shift length. Kitchen folks start at $13/hr and there are potential opportunities to add more hours weekly. The kitchen is located near Costco in Santa Cruz.

We are a casual café and eatery with a focus on a simple selection of French dishes and specialties (crepes/galettes, omelets, sandwiches, salads) using seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced. We are looking for a team oriented, self-motivated experienced barista and FOH person.  While it is helpful to have some foundation in coffee, we prefer an impressive, consistent job experience track record and someone who projects a strong work ethic. At Stone Creek Coffee the Barista role exists as the main executor of a customer experience that exemplifies “Remarkable Care.”

Baristas work to blow new customers away. In everything from urgency to the customer, to the beverage and environment quality, the main focus of Baristas should be to win new fans for Stone Creek Coffee.

  • URGENCY TO THE CUSTOMER – Baristas will be urgent to the customer having a pleasant and welcoming demeanor, comfortable asking and using customer names during every transaction, always offering a food option with a smile, and remembering to thank all our guests.

  • CLEAN SPACE – Baristas will use to the systems developed for their café to keep everything neat and clean, and to keep fresh coffee on the shelf with no gaps.

  • GREEN DRINK – Baristas must construct high quality beverages, if customers cannot get a better drink from us than our competitors then we can’t expect to win fans!

  • Minimum availability requirements: two shifts weekly, one of these need to be a weekend shift

  • Customer Service or Retail Experience: 1 year

Preferred:


  • Specialty Coffee Experience: 1 year

Training:

Stone Creek Coffee provides paid 100-200-300 training series, for all our Baristas. Our 100 series is required, while the 200-300 series are available as opportunities for ongoing education for all who are interested.

Training classes take place Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm and are scheduled based on availability.

Compensation Structure:

We offer a base pay of $10.00 an hour with an hourly tip rate which varies between $4.00 - $4.50.

  • On the house fuel (i.e coffee beverages) while scheduled

At Stone Creek Coffee we perform quarterly reviews which include compensation discussions, all compensation increase conversations are based on demonstrated value added to the team.

Zella's Soulful Kitchen is open Monday — Wednesday, 7am—7 pm,. Thursday & Friday 7am-4pm,. Saturday, 9am-2pm. Closed on Sunday. We're looking for a Kitchen Team member that is available Weekdays and Weekends, and is looking to grow from Part Time to Full Time. **NOTE: Applicant must be able to work Saturday shift.**
