The Job Captain / BIM Manager (JC / BIM) leads office Revit development and education. As an integral part of the TBL Team, the BIM actively guides drawings production of TBL projects, focused on document effectiveness, accuracy and buildability. The BIM reports directly to the Director of Operations (DO) and works directly with the Project Managers and Design Associates to ensure the quality of architectural documents and models.

Key characteristics, experiences, skills, and licenses:

  • 5-year professional architectural degree, or Master’s

  • 4-6 years professional experience utilizing Revit

  • 3 years minimum experience in custom residential design

  • 3 years minimum experience in construction document management & review

  • Familiarity with the IBC, CA Building Code, and general code compliance review

  • Familiarity with interior detailing and waterproofing

  • Familiarity with 3D Rendering and VR Platforms (Enscape, Lumion, or similar)

  • Advanced Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) proficiency

Working with the Director of Operations, first-quarter activities shall include:

  • Learning and improving TBL construction document protocols

  • Teaching and accelerating Revit skills throughout the office

  • Teaching and accelerating VR and Rendering use in project presentations

  • Researching, teaching and integrating sustainable design

Measurable Goals:

  • Demonstrate improved team competency in Revit, Enscape, AutoCad and other platforms

  • Establish and Maintain regular Training Protocols

  • Integrate Sustainable Design in all projects
