We make everything we sell from scratch, with tested recipes and the best ingredients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Helps prepare ingredients for desserts, baked goods and continental breakfast. · Monitors the continental breakfast and ensures that there are enough pastry products available for the buffet every day. · Determines type and amount of food and supplies (i.e. condiments, spices, other flavorings) for assigned menu item(s). · Maintains work area on a safe, healthy and sanitary condition. · Plans, bakes and portions all food items for the weekday continental breakfast and pastries for Sunday brunch. · Organizes the dairy walk in every day. Ensures that the weekly dairy delivery is organized and stored properly. · FIFO (First in, first out.) Ensures the proper rotation of food products. · Follows all safety, sanitation and cleanliness requirements adheres to safe and healthful work practices. · Creates plans, prepares and arranges desserts and baked goods for parties and other special events. · Conducts the inventory of all ice cream and sorbet once a week. · Reports all product needs to the Pastry Chef or Chef de Cuisine. · Responsible for proper storage of all blades and knives. · Report all equipment issues to Chef de Cuisine and Dining Services Director as soon as possible. · Communicates supply needs to relevant individual(s). · SDS sheet understanding and compliance (Safety Data Sheets) · Assists with the Continental Breakfast.
· Capable of producing a wide variety of attractively presented desserts and pastries.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. · Flexibility for daily changing menus and different kitchen duties · Ability to use knives and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during preparation. · Ability to interpret and follow instructions, recipes, specifications and standards. · Food Handler’s Certification is required.
SCHEDULE: · Full-Time: 40 hours per week. · Shifts will include weekends, holidays, and special events.
