https://www.adventurenannies.com/job-board/outdoorsy-mill-valley-ca-family-seeking-nurturing-collaborative-nanny/

A caring and active family in Mill Valley, CA is seeking a playful, engaging, and nurturing nanny for their three children, aged 4 and 2 years old and 5 months old!   Based in the beautiful north Bay Area, this family enjoys taking part in all the outdoor activities that the area has to offer. They are passionate about minimizing screen time to zero whenever possible, and the children thrive with imaginative play! Both parents work from home due to COVID and their children’s grandmother lives nearby as well. Their oldest is a part of a small pod school that takes place in their backyard with three other children, and all families participating follow very careful COVID precautions. The family’s 4 and 2-year-old are excited to attend outdoor camp this summer and will be returning to traditional preschool as soon as it is safe to do so, most likely by this fall. Their current nanny has been with them for 4+ years, and the family is invested in ensuring their caregivers have the space, resources, and work-life balance they need. They are seeking a gentle, infant-savvy nanny to join their team and contribute to the family’s warm, enriching environment.   This position is ideal for a playful nanny who is excited to both implement and be a key member of imaginative playtime with these three curious children! The role will focus primarily on their 5-month-old to start, and this home has an all-hands-on-deck environment, so a willingness to jump in with all three children as needed is an important and valued piece of this family’s team. While the family is very cautious when it comes to COVID, they do look forward to traveling as it is safe to do so, including trips to Martha’s Vineyard, and hope for a candidate who would be excited to join them! A sense of creativity, confidence working with infants as well as multiple children in a role, and a pitch-in spirit to assist with light tidying, children’s laundry, and children’s meal prep, will all be appreciated in this home.

Position Details

  • Hours/Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-50 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Flexibility for date night, weekend, and occasional safe travel will be appreciated!

  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in.  Accommodations include a private bedroom and minimally shared bathroom in the family’s home, as well as a vehicle provided for personal use, and access to the family’s Peloton and virtual gym instructors.  While live-in is preferred, the family is open to the position transitioning to live-out in the long-term.

  • Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering $30-$40+/hour depending on experience, in addition to relocation assistance, assistance with healthcare, and PTO.

  • Start Date: The position will begin as soon as the family finds the perfect fit

  • Other Notes: Driving is required for this role and a vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children to grow and thrive

  • Primarily provide care for the family’s 5-month-old, and collaborate with parents and co-nanny to assist with care of the two older children as needed

  • Create and engage in enriching, imaginative play

  • Plan enriching activities beyond basic care with an emphasis on minimizing screen time and exploring the outdoors

  • Pitch in with light child-related household tasks such as tidying, meal prep, and laundry

  • Travel with the family as needed when it is safe to do so

  • Participate in the family’s COVID safety protocols

Qualifications
