MIDAS is hiring ASE certified and entry-level Automotive Technicians/Mechanics.


JOB SUMMARY:


The Automotive Technician provides high quality service and repairs to satisfy the customer. They are self-motivated, dependable, hard-working and work well with the shop team. They must be knowledgeable and have experience in areas covered by the ASE certification programs (Engine Repair, Transmissions, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning and Engine Performance, Light Vehicle/Diesel).


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Inspect and diagnose customer vehicles

  • Maintain safe shop conditions and work practices

  • Communicate actively and clearly with employees and/or customers; explaining diagnosis and needed repairs as required to assist sales staff

  • Provide high quality maintenance and repairs to customers' vehicles

  • Stay updated on technology, requirements and processes for automotive service and repair

  • Maintain assigned work schedule and start work by scheduled time

  • Clean shop, restrooms, waiting room and take out trash

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Valid driver's license

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management

  • Able to read and write English

  • Represent self and MIDAS in a professional manner

  • Maintain high quality service to internal and external customers

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience


Physical Requirements:



  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time

  • Able to safely lift of up to 75 pounds to chest level

  • Able to bend, twist, grab, reach and any other activity required to service vehicles


Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 years of automotive repair experience with emphasis on under-car repairs, brakes and tires

  • Ability to diagnose and repair drivability issues, A/C systems, and light engine repair is a plus
