Sales Consultant - Job Description:

In addition to the sales role, the Sales Consultant will locate and identify cars to consign from professional contacts, online leads and other methods for both consigning and buying cars, as well as assisting customers in the showroom.

Sales Consultant - Requirements:

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Dealer Development Representative is expected to work various positions within the branch, including but not limited to, business development, underwriting, and collections. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for developing and servicing a portfolio of dealer accounts: aggressively manages business development, makes effective one-on-one sales calls on new and existing dealers, acquires new dealer agreements, generates application flow resulting in new contracts, meets and exceeds business goals.

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of branch administration: interviewing customers, booking out automobiles, making sound credit decisions, requesting exceptions, contacting dealers to negotiate call backs , follow up on approvals and conditions and performing verification of all pertinent documentation.

  • Performs other related job duties and special projects as assigned

  • Prioritizes application workflow based on viability. Accumulates necessary credit application (direct/indirect loans) documentation for better decision making. Contacts customers and/or dealers for additional information as required. Completes customer interviews, pulls credit reports, etc. to enable Branch/Assistant Manager the ability to make sound decisions promptly.

  • Ensures dealer database, licensing, and dealer files are current and up-to-date.

  • Assists with the daily workflow for the Branch; pulls/reads/and understands all branch reports.

  • Initiates communication with customers to negotiate a payment plan for past-due loans and assist in resolve delinquent accounts. Documents all telephonic and in-person discussions with customers in their respective accounts through the comments/messages section of NFI’s customer database system

  • Maintains compliance with industry regulations to include the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Dodd-Frank Act, and other federal and state regulations.

  • Adheres to corporate collection policies and delinquency standards (refer to the Policies & Procedures Manual for specifics).

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of the branch deposit including posting mail and counter payments, balancing the cash drawer and completing the deposit.

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of branch administration, including but not limited to: creation of new contract files, inputting customer contracts, verification of all pertinent documentation, responsible for check signing, etc.

  • Consults with the Branch/Assistant Manager when issues arise.

  • Promptly responds to customer issues, when necessary.

  • Cross-sells NFI products and services.

  • As required, assists with the general housekeeping of the Branch.

  • Performs other related job duties/special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:




  • Education and/or Experience– High School Diploma or equivalent; plus 1-2 years experience in a collection/bankruptcy environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Language Skills– Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to read and comprehend basic governmental regulations regarding collections and bankruptcy; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group presentations to customers or employees.


  • Training: Must be able to pass all of the prerequisite educational classes initially and on a periodic basis as determined by the company policy in place


  • Computer Skills– Ability to prepare letters/reports/etc/ using Microsoft Office Products, NFI software and related systems.


  • Other Qualifications– Must maintain a valid driver’s license to conduct field calls.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Provide support to agents within assigned territory including but not limited to attending agency sales meetings, joint dealer sales presentations, supplying competitive industry information, etc. 

  • Make presentations at dealer meetings and various training events as required. 

  • Stay current on business policies, practices, trends and technology, report findings to management and peers. 

  • Stay current on compliance laws and issues applicable in your specific market. 

  • Regularly evaluate assigned dealer’s performance, making recommendations to cancel non or poor performing accounts.

  • Language Skills– Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to read and comprehend basic governmental regulations regarding collections and bankruptcy; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group presentations to customers or employees.


  • Training: Must be able to pass all of the prerequisite educational classes initially and on a periodic basis as determined by the company policy in place


  • Computer Skills– Ability to prepare letters/reports/etc/ using Microsoft Office Products, NFI software and related systems.


  • Other Qualifications– Must maintain a valid driver’s license to conduct field calls.
