PSE Audio Visual is young and growing Brooklyn-based integration company looking for full-time field AV technicians to work on local and national projects. At least 2 years of experience installing and servicing permanently installed audio/video systems. This is not an entry-level position. Compensation based on experience.


Overview:



  • Pulling & terminating bulk wire in the new & retrofit construction.

  • Hardware installation of various AV components: displays, projectors, screens, microphones, cameras.

  • Troubleshooting & commissioning of AV rooms.

  • Lifting & deliver various equipment with a commercial vehicle. Valid and current driver's license.

  • Travel to local & national locations.


Certification & Training Preferred:



  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-I)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Audio Visual Installer to work on commercial integration projects in the Tri County area.


The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years experience in a leadership role. Must have exceptional customer service skills and be able to wear multiple hats while assisting sales teams and supporting existing customer deployments.


Position Responsibilities:


Work with a team of AV integration technicians to lead AV integration projects.


Install, test and operate conference room systems including digital and wireless microphones, projection systems, audio mixing and distribution systems, A/V device control systems, robotic cameras and camera switcher, and videoconferencing systems.


Install AV system components consisting of ceiling projectors, wall mounted flat-screens, motorized screens, cabling, ceiling speakers, video conferencing systems, most audio visual system devices.


Read basic audio-visual engineering drawings, pull cables by working off a drawing package, and terminate cables (solder & crimping, etc).


AV system troubleshooting.


Position Requirements/Qualifications:


Must demonstrate experience completing technical installation of audiovisual/VTC systems, including:


- Equipment rack fabrications
- Site preparations
- Termination and calibration of audio and video equipment
- Implementation of Crestron and AMX control systems preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot audio visual systems, video teleconference setup and video projector setup
- Experience with major industry manufacturers including Extron, Crestron, AMX, Polycom, and Cisco/Tandberg
- Ability to conduct installations including climbing ladders and skilled with hand and power tools
- Excellent customer service skills in a deadline-driven environment
- Highly reliable, with a proactive attitude and solid work ethic

  • Strong knowledge in the areas of installation, service, testing and maintenance of:

  • The ability to problem solve and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • The ability to conduct a business meeting, present to an audience and conduct solution training

  • Strong understanding of commercial building construction and the NEC/MA Electrical code

  • Proficient with Mac and PC products as well as Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel)

  • Driver's License and a reasonable/safe driving record as defined by our insurance company

  • Certifications: CTS, CTS-I, Extron AV Associate preferred

  • Audio DSP programming and balancing (design is plus)

Technical training is required to be completed within first three months of hire. The training and testing will be based on CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design & Integration Association) standards. The successful completion of this exam with a score of 75% or higher guarantees a raise.

Read and write English


Understand how to use and operate computers and mobile devices.


Be able to lift and carry 30-50 Pounds


Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding.

Alpha Video is growing and looking for talented individuals who want to develop their AV and Broadcast integration superpowers.


The AV/Broadcast Lead Install Technician is the primary field contact and coordinator for corporate, educational, gaming, sports, and broadcast projects. In addition to performing installation duties, he or she shall be the point person in the field for crew delegation, client communication, installation standards, configuration and training.


Job Requirements:



  • Up to 70% travel, sometimes on a last-minute basis.

  • Occasional evening, overnight, and weekend work.

  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.

  • Obtain and/or maintain CTS, PLT, and OSHA certifications.

  • Obtain/maintain Unlicensed Registration for low voltage work within the state of MN

  • Follow all company’s procedures and protocols.

  • Must be able to climb ladders up to 24’ tall and lift up to 75lbs.

  • Must be able to work in cramped spaces and on uneven surfaces.


Due to the extensive travel required for this position, Alpha Video will consider candidates who reside outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
