Responsibilities include:

-Creating & Developing paintings to be taught in classes and used for promotional items.

-Developing & executing detailed teaching methods. Instructing customers during class in an energetic, clear and well-paced manner while encouraging creativity and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere. 

-Assisting customers and staff member(s) to ensure smooth class flow and promote customer painting success through teamwork and positive attitude.

-Bartending: Serving wine, beer, non-alcohol and hot appetizers. (FAST PACED) 

Required Skills/Abilities:

-Ability to design and execute quality, acrylic paintings in various painting styles

-Proficiency in Microsoft Word (PC or Mac)

-Basic computer skills, internet and social media knowledge. 

-Public Speaking or performance skills (comfortable speaking on a microphone)

   RecreationPlus is seeking a qualified instructor to deliver a dynamic Arts & Crafts class with light stretching. 

The class class will consist of stretching, chair exercise or whatever is needed to service the client. There will be 19 classes split, with the 1st set of 10 classes starting in late January or early February, and the last 9 classes will start in the Fall. 

Instructor will need to contact the site and work out a schedule. Then that schedule will given to me so that I can get to corporate so they design flyers and get them out to the complex. 

There needs to be at least minimum 2 week notice before the class can start.

Travel time compensated when transporting art supplies before and/or after art class. Must have some art background, experience working with children, reliable transportation, ability to lift and pull 10 - 20 lbs., time management & communication skills, reliable, friendly and upbeat personality, basic computer skills, access to internet and email, cell phone. Availability to sub at other schools a huge plus. Job requires pickup and/or drop off of art lessons and supplies weekly in San Carlos. Will need fingerprinting background check and TB test. Fingerprinting fees reimbursed after one year of established employment.      Position Description: In CC Prep’s non-traditional education & training environment, Learning Facilitators serve as a “guide on the side”, rather than a “sage on the stage”, engaging with academic and occupation based content through multiple modalities imploring both andragogy and pedagogy methods for roughly 15-20 learners per 90-minute class session. The Learning Facilitator is supported by a Lab Coach to ensure required blended learning support directly with students.     Under supervision, the Art Instructor will teach art to consumers (adults with varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and intellectual disabilities) in the program. Will function in several media of artistic expression in addition to a concentration in at least one art specialty area. Implement special education and behavior treatment plans


    Essential Duties:


    55% Implement artistic, educational, and behavioral support plans for assigned consumers, referring to consumers IPP. Ensure consumers’ well-being during operating hours of the Art Center, while on the premises, and out in the community. Maintain case notes on a monthly basis and participate in meetings and other in-services as assigned. Ensure consumers’ attendance books are accurate and complete. Provide supervision during consumers’ arrival, departure, and lunchtime.


    20% Give instruction in the proper use of materials, care, and protection of art work, production of saleable art, and help consumers to become proficient in at least one art media. Ensure the safe use of equipment, including basic safety measures to be used when working with various tools, machines, and materials, safe lifting procedures, etc. Create any protocols needed for increased safety. Monitor artist throughout their entire art project. Assist and instruct consumers on projects related to their IPP (Individual Program Plan).

    3% Follow appropriate protocol and policies in assisting consumers during any incidents or seizures.. Employ NCI procedures as needed to assist consumers who are exhibiting aggressive behavior. Adhere to ECF’s Illness and Injury Prevention Safety Program and follow ECF guidelines for reporting medical emergencies, suspected abuse or neglect and unusual incidents to counseling or supervisory staff.     The university's most recent advances include a new Engineering Building to house the rapidly growing School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, a new academic multipurpose building on the 80-acre Fort Worth campus near Chisholm Trail Parkway, the new Animal and Plant Sciences Center with classrooms, laboratories and retail sales space, and $26 million in upgrades and expansion of venerable Memorial Stadium.
