You would lead our team of 9 walkers and engage with our 150+ clients while working directly with the owner and business manager to ensure the company runs smoothly. ○ Responsible for Dog Care in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
Facilities & Safety
○ Ensure cleanliness of all rescue spaces, particularly kennels and dog-related areas, this includes deep cleaning kennels
○ Human Safety (Volunteers, Staff, Adopters, etc.): follow safety protocols throughout our spaces
○ Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of dogs under our care
○ Feed and care for the dogs on a daily basis
○ Document behavior and conduct behavioral assessment of dogs
○ Track incident reports, ensure they’re written and that reporting forms are available for all volunteers, adopters, and staff onsite
○ Match dogs and assignment into kennel areas
○ Keep track of dogs and where they’re allocated
○ Grade dogs for our volunteers and keep it up-to-date
○ Ensure dogs receive medical attention, when needed
○ Responsible for intake of animals - ensuring space and medical supplies are prepared for intakes
Supporting Family Dog Rescue departments
○ Support & collaborate with teams within Family Dog Rescue (Adoptions, Volunteer, & Corporate Engagement)
Family Dog Rescue is a grass roots 501(c)3 nonprofit dog rescue/shelter in San Francisco. In 2019, we saved over 1,000 dogs and found them loving homes. We are proud and honored to have saved over 7,000 dogs since our founding in 2010.

We are looking for Adoptions Specialists: If you love dogs and love people this is literally the best job for you. You will be client facing as you match our dogs to potential adopters.
To excel at this position you will need to be outgoing. We show up to 3 dogs per appointment. You’ll spend your day at the shelter. Most shifts run for 6 or 8 hours.
There is an administrative component to this as you will process the adoption paperwork during and after a successful adoption. In addition to that we respond to emails and schedule appointments.
This position provides a high level of customer service. You must enjoy working with animals, people, and enthusiastically promote the mission at Family Dog Rescue.
You will need to possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will need to be quick-thinking and fast-acting. Our weekends days are our busiest and can get hectic.
One weekend day is required: either Saturday or Sunday.
North Scottsdale Animal Hospital is a progressive, state-of-the-art hospital located off Raintree and the 101. We are looking to add a grooming assistant/bather with excellent communication skills and work ethic. Our focus is client service and animal care; we want staff that reflects our desire to care for the clients and patients like members of our own family. This job requires walking dogs, doing laundry, cleaning kennels, bathing, drying and brushing. The shifts will be Wednesday through Saturday 8am - 1pm. We require 2 references, 1 of the references must be professional in nature (no family or friends). Salary and benefits will be discussed during the interview process. This is a part-time position and will require work on Saturdays. An applicant must also be able to pass a background check and have a clean criminal record.
The Grooming Assistant will primarily aide the professional groomer with baths, grooming, nail trims, and other related tasks.
A day in the life of a Grooming Assistant:
Maintain the cleanliness of the hospital, including kennel area, runs, treatment area, and outside grounds.
Feed hospitalized animals and boarders.
Bathe animals in a calm, timely, and professional way and monitor animals while utilizing dryers for their safety
Monitor and record important information about the animals conditions, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).
Notify the Doctor or a Veterinary Technician of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
Maintain laundry throughout the day and keep laundry area neat.
Assist the Doctor and Veterinary Technicians with restraint and treatment of animals.
Monitor and maintain the kennel inventory to include food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned that assist the Doctor, Receptionist, Veterinarian Technicians, and Groomers in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic, care of clients and service to the clients.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Flexible schedule including some weekend shifts
Must have computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations.
Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
Previous experience in the veterinary industry or experience handling animals
