Studio Operations


  • Update MindBody Online with teacher subs/class changes promptly.

  • Enter new pricing options, sales, discounts, codes, invoicing, etc. in MindBody Online.

  • New member contracts in MindBody Online.

  • Order of supplies and work with vendors.

  • Keep studio supplied with “special touches” such as fruit for the water and fresh plants/flowers.

  • Oversee studio maintenance and cleaning.

Amazing Science is looking for 2-3 enthusiastic people to teach or aide k-6 after-school science classes, at locations in Marin County, from September to December, and from January to June, of each year. 

WE SUPPLY all needed materials and lesson plans! 

Various schedules and locations are available. The classes are at elementary schools around central Marin. Each session is 7-12 weeks. There are separate class levels for grades K, 1-2, and 3+. 

Teachers typically teach one to two 1-hour after-school classes per day, on days of their choice. 

The main skills needed are: to appear reliably; to be able to safely manage classes of 5-15 children, ranging from kindergarten to 6th grade; to be enthusiastic about learning and teaching; and to be able to understand and teach a wide range of science topics at k-6 levels based on pre-written lesson plans (a formal science background is *not* required).

THE POSITION

Substitute Preschool Teacher, under supervision of the Preschool Director, is responsible for developing, organizing and teaching preschool age children for Pleasant Hill Recreation Preschool during the school year and teaching camps during the summer.

The position offered is temporarily from now until 3/30/2020 Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8:00am-12:00pm. This position is with children 18-36 month old. Upon completion of temporary assignment floater/sub hours may be available as needed. This position requires, classroom management skills, patience, good communication skills, and the ability to multitask. Substitute Preschool Teacher must also remain professional at all times and be able to handle conflict well. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have natural leadership abilities.

Example of Duties:

 Create, plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with a play based, process oriented approach.

 Maintain a clean and organized classroom.

 Change diapers and assist in potty training children.

 Communicate with parents regarding the needs of students.

 Work as a team with a co-teacher.

Part Time Riding Instructors work as part of a collaborative, supportive and professional team to offer riding lessons, horsemanship classes and seasonal camps to students and campers at Sienna Ranch. Sienna Ranch uses a Pony Club-influenced approach to balanced seat and safety, and deeply values a Natural Horsemanship approach to forming connections between students and horses, horse training and horse care.

The Alliance Specialist provides direct services to child care center clients implementing the project’s vision, goals, and values on a day to day basis.  

This Position Reports to the Alliance Director

Key Responsibilities


  • Maintain high level of  expertise in need and eligibility criteria, admission priorities, and  requirements of the California Department of Education (CDE) Title V Regulations.

  • Keep up-to-date with any changes to CDE Regulations and Management Bulletins.

  • Communicate with  child care center clients and third parties as necessary to obtain and  verify relevant data to determine family need and eligibility for services  prior to enrollment.

  • Perform ongoing need and  eligibility certifications, updates and re-certifications for CDE  subsidized families per regulations.

  • Monitor and resolve issues with Alternative Payment Provider family certificate expirations/extensions on an ongoing basis.

  • Follow up on outstanding  issues until a resolution is reached.

  • Ensure timely transfers of verified family file information to agencies.

  • Closely communicate with participating child care agencies regarding existing or forecasted vacancies.

  • Assists with maintenance of data management and reporting processes and procedures.

  • Perform data entry, data  management, and reporting for a range of early childhood programs utilized  by child care center clients including but not limited to Preschool for All, OECE Early Learning Scholarships, Alternative Payment Providers, and  California Department of Education.

  • Provide prompt support to client agencies including local travel to sites when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


  • Search, hire, on-board and train new instructors.

  • Schedule and maintain the schedules of 30+ employees.

  • Observe and prepare biannual instructor evaluations.

  • Ensure company policies, standards and procedures are followed.

  • Understand and organize the life-cycle of student binders.

  • Conduct center tours and consultative sales presentations. Build rapport with parents and effectively convey the benefits of Mathnasium and our commitment to help their student be successful in Math. Schedule assessments and effectively enroll students, as needed.

  • Assist Center Director in making appropriate business based decisions and resolving issues. Demonstrate good judgment in stressful situations.

  • Act as Manager On Duty, open/close the center as needed.

  • Review student needs and educational status with Center Director on an ongoing basis.

  • Provide feedback to Center Director regarding Instructor performance.

  • Perform operational and administrative functions as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


  • Confident math skills (through Algebra preferred but not required)

  • Minimum 1-year related experience, preferably in a leadership role in education, sales or customer service.

  • Strong ability to multi-task, balance priorities and work in a dynamic environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and nurture strong relationships.

  • Collaborate leadership; ability to train and engage staff as well as delegating responsibilities.

Senior Leader Course Instructor

JANUS is currently seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Senior Leader Course Instructor to join our team at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA.

This position will conduct classroom Instruction in support of the Warfighter Information Tactical (WIN-T) U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Army Learning Model (ALM). Perform platform and hands-on instruction to students attending various 25 Series MOS courses. Instructor is responsible for updating current POIs as well as developing new POIs. Instructors also in charge of coordinating new equipment training data and training program impacts; resolving routine technical problems or recommending corrective actions concerning new equipment training, training devices; attending conferences, meetings, study groups, etc. All instruction conducted IAW the principles and concepts of TRADOC. Instruction shall include classroom/ laboratory conference instruction, discussion, demonstration, practical exercises, testing, and student critiques.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated work experience as an instructor/ training developer. Must have up-to-date experience in at least one 25 Series Military Occupational Specialty.

  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years' experience instructing WIN-T course material and/or worked directly in the career field during three (3) of the preceding five (5) years'.

  • Prefer a graduate of current or previous version of the Army Basic Instructors Course or Support Cadre Training Course within the last 5 years. Re-certification within 6 months of employment is acceptable.

  • Be proponent certified in the course(s) taught.

  • Must be knowledgeable of all applicable regulations and doctrines regarding training within TRADOC.

The Extended Day (ED) is an award-winning afterschool academic enrichment program serving over 1,100 children K-5 year-round: from Marshall Elementary, Bryant Elementary School, Flynn Elementary School, Sanchez Elementary School, Thomas Edison Charter Academy, and Alvarado Elementary School. We are now bringing our program to Cleveland Elementary School. Youth who participate in the Extended Program develop a sense of self-confidence in their ability to learn, to speak their voice and to contribute to their community. The program infuses "college messaging" throughout its curriculum to ensure both children and parents alike begin visualizing early for the college experience. We are seeking afterschool teachers for all of our Extended Day School sites.

After school teachers will work closely with the school’s day time classroom teachers to observe best teaching practices, lead small academic support groups in reading and math, and learn the specifics grades curriculum to assist with homework and the development of lessons and units of study. Job description

The Teacher-Director leads the year-around afternoon program Monday through Friday, from 11:30 pm to 5:30 pm. They will direct a teaching staff of two to three teachers and work with children aged three to five. The afternoon program gives children the opportunity to participate in organized activities and a variety of curriculum projects, as well as to play in a relaxed, self-directed way. The program provides a balance between active and quiet play, as well as large and small group activities. The afternoon program philosophy reflects that of CCC--building community, inclusiveness, and creating a safe place for all to learn.


Main responsibilities and duties 


  • Develop a curriculum founded on play-based, social-emotional, creative, and anti-bias concepts. Work collaboratively with other Teacher-Directors and the Board of Directors on program management and design. 

  • Plan varied daily activities each week and prepare materials and equipment for the program. 

  • Supervise and engage children during the afternoon program in child-initiated and organized activities, encouraging peer interaction as well as helping with problem-solving and conflict resolution. 

  • Work in conjunction with morning Teacher-Directors to ensure mutual clean-up and sharing of classroom, i.e. consult with other Teacher-Directors about room organization, storage and clean-up responsibility. 

  • Supervise, train, give feedback to, and evaluate staff under one’s direct supervision. Direct afternoon staff regarding specific daily duties. 

  • Communicate with families about their children's needs and growth, and attend parent-teacher conferences. 

  • Attend monthly evening board meetings and staff meetings, as well as various school activities. 

 Qualifications


  • Must possess at least 15 semester units in Early Childhood Education, including at least 3 semester units in administration or staff relations. 

  • A Bachelor of Arts degree (or be in the process of completing such degree), and a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field (2 years teaching and 2 years administration). 

  • Must comply with all applicable requirements for “Day Care Center Directors” found in section 101215.1 of the California Code of Regulations.

If you love working with students as much as you love studying math, we want to meet you! At BATC, we believe a tutor's academic expertise is just as important as his or her ability to effectively convey the subject matter to students of all levels and backgrounds. We are seeking a personable, focused and enthusiastic individual to tutor all levels of math at our center in Berkeley. 

We have one part-time position available (12-18 hrs/wk). This position requires availability on some combination of shifts Monday through Thursday, 3:30-10:00 pm and Saturday, 10:00 am-4:30 pm during the school year. 

We strongly prefer a tutor with availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

Working at BATC


  • Pay is $26/hr and up, DOE

  • We offer set shifts; your hours are guaranteed whether or not we are able to schedule students in them

  • Paid training, prep time and staff meetings

  • Transportation options available to those commuting from the Berkeley/Oakland area to San Ramon

Qualifications

Math tutors must have a thorough understanding of and ability to teach all of the following: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus (as well as lower level math). Experience tutoring physics is highly desirable. Experience with standardized test prep is also highly desirable. Tutors must be able to take initiative and work independently. At the same time, we expect tutors to collaborate with each other in order to develop and/or expand curricula. Prior tutoring experience is preferred and a bachelor's degree (or ongoing study towards a degree) is required. All candidates will be given an assessment test in their subject prior to interviewing.
