Working in accordance with established Board of Child Care Policies and Procedures the Registered Nurse will develop, manage, and monitor an efficient Health Suite; which includes administration and supervision of medications; emergency assessment and triage of care as needed; coordination of routine medical and dental care; staff orientation and training; health education for youth according to Code of Maryland Regulations and the Maryland Board of Nursing’s Nurse Practice Act.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Adheres to or exceeds established policies and procedures, Board of Child Care standards, regulatory practices and state regulations for a Case Manager Delegating Nurse (CMDM) for School Health and Department of Juvenile Services, which includes Board of Child Care.

  • Responsible for the ongoing timely management and completion of residents’ wellness visits in accordance with regulations to ensure that changes in residents’ health status are being addressed and are known to the residents’ primary care provider and responsible party.

  • Responsible for medication management as it relates to residents who self-administer medications and residents who are administered medications by Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs), and makes appropriate recommendations to the authorized prescriber or designee as necessary.

  • Transcribes providers orders to resident charts, medication records etc. as required. Maintains Medication Administration Records (MARs)

  • Oversees medication administration by Certified Medication Technicians.

  • Administers medications and treatments according to regulations and established procedures.

  • Refills and stores medications according to established pharmaceutical policies and procedures.

  • Ensures medications are discontinued per orders and disposes all outdated and discontinued medications to pharmacy

  • Maintains current scheduled and controlled drug record in accordance with state or federal laws.

  • Responsible for assessing the continued competency of the CMT’s

  • Manages CMT’s and performs med passes on each quarterly

  • Participates actively in the quality improvement process by identifying opportunities for process improvement, attending facility wide committee meetings; submits required reports; recommends plans for improvements.

  • Complies with regulatory and legislative requirements

  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory attendance and report for duty as scheduled

  • Demonstrates knowledge and clinical expertise in nursing

  • Time management: The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in an efficient manner

  • Practices sound employment practices by adhering to all BCC policies, procedures, and standards, local, state, and federal regulations, and employment laws

  • Exhibits excellent customer service and follow-through, communication and teamwork, safety practices, attendance and punctuality, strong leadership and supervisory skills, while adhering to company standards.

  • Must show ability to make sound and ethical judgments.

Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience

  • Possession of an active Registered Nurse (RN) license without disciplinary infractions by Maryland Board of Nursing.

  • Certification as a School Health/DJS Case Manager Delegating Nurse is required or must be obtained in the first six (6) months

  • Two (2) years of nursing experience preferably in a pediatric or group home setting.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification

  • Must maintain current registered nursing license for practice in the state of Maryland as per regulatory guidelines.

  • Maintains requirements for Case Manger Delegating Nurse as necessary

  • Maintenance of a valid Maryland Driver’s License and safe driving record;

Position Overview:


The OJT Trainer is responsible for training new or existing manufacturing employees on manufacturing processes.


Specific Duties Include:



  • Work with employees (“learners”) in the subject areas to train them in manufacturing procedures and policies

  • Working with technical leads and managers, create and maintain Work Instructions and other training materials as needed to support training efforts

  • Use Work Instructions and other training materials to instruct students, and show students how to find relevant work instructions for their areas

Job Summary: The Nursing Assistant's primary function is to provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. This position will perform duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, change linens, and move residents as directed or needed. As a CMT, this position will administer medications as directed.

Essential Functions / Duties:

  • Provide direct resident care as assigned, conduct resident rounds daily, and perform nursing care as noted below:

    • Answer call lights within designated timeframe.

    • Give care to all residents assigned; make rounds on all residents; check soiled linens and side rails.

    • Change incontinent residents; wash and dry soiled residents.

    • Walk ambulatory residents; this includes taking them to the bathroom.

    • Give tub baths, showers, or bed baths to residents.

    • Complete oral hygiene and toileting.

    • Turn and reposition all bed and chair residents.

    • Place bedpans, linens, washbasins, and soiled linens in proper area.

    • Complete charting on residents.


  • Complete food percentage, intake and output, bowel, and bladder records.

  • Empty and record all urinary drainage units.

  • Review care plans, update and document nurse aide flow sheets with relevant information; document in nursing assistant notes and nurse aide flow sheets the care and treatment provided to the resident and the resident's response or lack of response to care provided.

  • Initiate corrective action as necessary and/or seek assistance from the Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager; identify special resident problems and report them immediately to the Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.

  • Participate in resident care conferences and other facility meetings as assigned; participate in the development of an individualized plan of resident care for residents as assigned.

  • Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.

  • Participate in facility continuing education programs as required.

  • Follow facility procedures for admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.

  • Listen to resident, family, or physician concerns and initiate corrective action and/or report concerns to Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.

  • Operate, load, and remove articles into washers and dryers; operate an automated laundry solution dispensing system (mix and add detergents, bleaches, starches, or other solutions as directed); place garments and linens in drum of washer; correctly adjust water temperature and wash cycle for the type of linen being washed, as required; transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer; clean machine filters.

  • Sort and remove articles from washers and dryers; hang, fold, and stack garments and linens; distribute clothes to resident's rooms without error.

  • Return clean linen to linen closets and mobile racks to ensure adequate supply is available for use at all times; report any garments or linens in ill repair to social services.

  • Must be able to work any shift as directed by the Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.

  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Operate computers programmed with software needed to record, store, and analyze resident information; operate copy/fax/printer machines to send documents and produce documents.

  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Charge Nurse and Unit Nurse Manager.

 

Shift Specific Duties:

Day

  • Take residents to the dining room and assist in feeding if assigned.

  • Serve breakfast and/or lunch trays and assist residents that are unable to feed themselves; remove trays from resident rooms and return them to the dishwashing area; ensure that residents are offered nourishment.

  • Roll beds down.


    • Evening

      • Take residents to the dining room and assist in feeding if assigned.

      • Serve evening meal trays and assist residents that are unable to feed themselves; remove trays from resident rooms and return them to the dishwashing area; ensure that residents are offered nourishment.

      • Prepare residents for bed.



Please refer to the Physical and Other Requirements section for abilities that are essential as they relate to the ability to do duties listed above.

Education and Experiences: Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not a requirement of the position. This position requires a certificate as a Nurse Aide or Medication Technician in the State of Missouri and to be listed as a Nurse Aide or Medication Technician in the Missouri Department of Health and Environment Registry. Must be CPR certified.

Technicians are responsible for delivering medications to the patients nursing unit and help in returning unused medication doses. Technicians take care of charging and crediting medications, they communicate with other hospital employees to appropriately handle medication related issues. Technicians must follow aseptic clean procedures during medication preparation procedures. Technicians assure that needed medications and supplies are inventoried, ordered, and stocked. They help with the daily operation aspects and organization of their assigned areas to help make sure that it operates effectively and efficiently.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Process orders: Medication Preparation, Distribution, Floor stock and IV's

Prepares medications and IV's, fills order request, cart fills and refills efficiently and accurately. Prioritizes needs appropriately, fills emergency request. Repackages and labels medications appropriately. Completes assigned duties.

Process orders and safely prepares and distribute medications. Investigates and processes missing doses of medications.

Completes assigned duties, assist other employees to complete work. Fills emergency and stat orders in a timely manner. Help process patient charges and credits accurately and in a timely manner.

Completes cart fills, transfer list, and all deliveries accurately and in a timely manner. Performs appropriate expiration dating of products prepared. Checks for appropriate dating, removes expired medications from stock

Answers phone in a professional manner, provides information and helps problem solve to improve patient care. Problem solves on missing medications, processes debits and credits accurately

Prioritizes medication orders appropriately. Performs controlled substances responsibilities which may include delivery, inventory, returns, preparation and labeling and communication of any problems or discrepancies to management staff immediately.

  1. Supportive services and quality assurance

Checks and cleans expired medication area, updates lot numbers and expiration dates,

Performs yearly technician assessments in a timely manner, Documents appropriately.

Follows aseptic and clean procedures when processing sterile and not sterile medication orders.

Documents fill list, manufacturing and repackaging, ordering unit dose oral solids and oral liquids, helps with stocking and inventory control. Repackages medications from bulk to single units and updates lot # and expiration dates as needed.

Maintains drug storage areas to assure that items are labeled and stored in a clean and orderly manner, provides feedback on usage and any problems or issues with stocking, monitors expiration dates of stock

  1. Performs assigned/other duties as required to meet patient care needs

Attends and participates in meetings. Submits recommendations and provides feedback for improvements or alerts for possible patient safety issues

Has a good knowledgeable of and follows policies and procedures. Serves as a role model, helps train new employees, provides feedback on progress. Observes legal limitations and follows departmental procedures

Participates in special projects and procedures as requested.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Required - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Preferred - Certificate from college program or technical school - Field of Study: Pharmacy Technician

Our residential treatment program for pregnant women and mothers with dependent children located in Garner, NC is seeking a Full-time Residential Technician to work 6 pm - 6 am, weekdays.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Providing transportation

  • Monitoring resident compliance with program rules and requirements

  • Coordinating activities with other staff to ensure that scheduled activities occur

  • Completing documentation (shift logs, incident reports)

  • Providing child care when necessary

Qualifications:




  • Ability to be a driver of a 8 and/or 16 passenger van; CDL not required, but a plus

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of substance use and addiction preferred

Availability:

  • Full Time 3 days, Monday - Friday, 6pm-6am
