Production Shift ManagerSummary:Manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations for assigned shift reporting Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for aspects of the manufacturing operation on assigned shift; which includes meeting established safety, quality, line efficiency, yield, cost per case and customer service goals/standardsManagement of hourly employees to include: hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training and development, completion of performance evaluations, approval and maintenance of records of employee attendance/hours workedEnforce safety and sanitation regulationsWork with cross functional teams to resolve technical problemsReview material transactions and completes production work ordersEnforces safety and housekeeping rules and policiesManage/supervisor 10+ hourly employeesCoach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisalMaintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time offReport food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionRequired Education, Skills, and Experience:High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates Degree with 3-5 years supervisory experience in a production setting, preferredExperience in food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high speed packaged consumer goods manufacturing environmentEffective communication skills, verbal and writtenExperience in department cost control and budget managementExcellent Leadership capability ability to motivate and influence othersLean manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma experienceWorking Conditions:Constant exposure to extreme loud noisesConstant standing and moving by footConstant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environmentConstant work in high places and near moving mechanical partsFrequent lifting/carrying 50 poundsPotential exposure to caustic chemicalsDISCLAIMER: The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed and is not an inclusive summary of job duties and responsibilities. The omission of specific statements of duties or responsibilities does not exclude them from the position. This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the employer and the employee and is subject to change by the Company as the needs of the Company and requirements of the job change
