Senior Business Analyst
LOCATION: Oakland, CA; currently 100% remote
HOURS: Full time, exempt
SALARY: $75,000–95,000 commensurate with experience

At Resource Development Associates (RDA), the Senior Business Analyst will be a critical member of the Consulting Team, responsible for coordinating behind-the-scenes portfolio management so that consulting teams are able to efficiently execute their work with appropriate staffing and resources. Key responsibilities include designing and conducting data analysis to assess portfolio health, determining staffing and resource requirements, and delivering data-driven recommendations to support our triple bottom line: financial growth and sustainability, employee well-being, and achievement toward our mission.

For more than 35 years, RDA has provided consultation to public, private, and social sector organizations working across the public safety net system to address persistent social, health, and economic problems. Our services include research, assessment, planning, grant writing, organizational development, training and coaching, facilitation, data system development, and evaluation. As the Senior Business Analyst, you will collaborate with all our multidisciplinary teams, employing your analytical and creative thinking skills to deliver innovative workflow and project profitability improvements. You'll support contract generation, negotiation, and execution; analyze and report on project performance and staff utilization data; and support Leadership in forecasting business needs. Every day and every project is different and we are constantly learning, but here is a sample of what you can expect to experience and accomplish in your first year:

  • Analyze and report on data related to project profitability and risk, billing rates, and staff utilization 
  • Coordinate project resourcing, including tracking staff skillsets, utilization, and capacity alongside project milestones
  • Conduct staffing analysis and business forecasting to support recruitment and revenue generation efforts
  • Partner with the Business Development team to scope workplans, personnel requirements, and budgets for business and grant proposals
  • Support project managers during contract negotiations to drive timely contract execution
  • Ensure accurate project setup and conduct quality assurance audits of project setup on a periodic basis
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve contract and invoicing issues
  • Track record as an effective, efficient, and positive team member
  • A quick learner and self-directed
  • 3+ years’ related experience or recent experience as an RDA Consultant or Senior Consultant
  • Fluency with Unanet GovCon a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with different management levels
  • Ability to conduct computer work for many hours a day
