Job Description

For over 55 years, The Firehouse Restaurant has become synonymous with outstanding wine, delicious food, unparalleled service and elegant affairs. Our inventive approach to intimate dining fuses sophistication with everyday excellence in the heart of Old Sacramento. The Firehouse showcases the region's most extensive wine collection, with a menu featuring the freshest local ingredients in an inviting classic atmosphere.

We are currently hiring for various positions:

*Server
-At least 5 years' server experience in fine dining required.
-Food and beverage knowledge. Extensive wine knowledge.
-Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
-Advanced POS skills.
-Must be 21 years of age.
-Understanding of alcohol awareness program.
-Ability to multi-task and high degree of organization.
-Able to frequently lift and carry food, beverages, and other items greater than 25 pounds.

* Runner
-At least 5 years' restaurant experience in fine dining required.
-Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
-Food and beverage knowledge.
-Knowledge of POS, Micros preferred.
-Must be 21 years of age.

* Busser
-At least 1 year of bus person fine dining experience required.
-Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
-Food and beverage knowledge.
-Knowledge of POS.
-Must be 21 years of age.
-Understanding of alcohol awareness program.

* Line Cook
-Performs duties for the Director of Culinary Operations and Sous Chef.
-Responsible for organization of station at all times.
-Maintains cooking standards to maintain a high quality of food and service.
-Works with standard dinner recipes for all dishes to ensure proper portion control, uniformity of taste, and
quality.
-Ensures prep list and line are set up completely.
-Monitors the quality of foods received.
-Keeps all areas in kitchen clean at all times.
-Ensures proper handling and rotation of food products.
-Ensures proper closing and opening procedures are followed for kitchen.
-Able to work on broiler, sauté, and pantry areas.
-Know and follow sanitary food handling procedures.

*Janitor/Dishwasher
-At least 2 years’ of verifiable experience in custodial maintenance work and the cleaning of buildings required.
-Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning and floor maintenance.
-Knowledge of general safety practices and procedures related to custodial work.
-Must be 21 years of age.
-Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
-Ability to observe safety rules.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
-Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
-Ability to work in dusty, dirty, wet and cold conditions.
-Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in all kinds of weather.
-Ability to perform manual tasks related to the operation and moving of heavy equipment, furniture and supplies.
-Ability to walk, kneel, climb, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull and any other related physical activities necessary in performing janitorial work.
-Necessary to have a good sense of balance.
-Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
-Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies, including but not limited to mop buckets and furniture, weighing up to 100 pounds.
-This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
