Job Description

If you answered yes to these questions, we believe that you would be an excellent candidate for our Strategic Sales Manager position based in our Chicago office.

As our Strategic Sales Manager, you will be responsible for helping to grow our business via strategic partnerships, referrals, and relationship-based sales. You will manage and mentor our inside sales team and market analyst, and work closely with other colleagues across the firm to drive activity required to reach our new business goals. You will report directly to a Partner on our leadership team and your day-to-day will include the following responsibilities:

  • Institutional Sales: Drive qualified lead generation for corporate service offerings:
    • Leverage data and KPIs t successfully manage and motivate inside sales team members to optimize performance
    • Qualify leads sourced by inside sales team
    • Select and collaborate with client-facing colleagues to pitch, win and close new business
  • Practice Management: Empower and support all client-facing partners/teams with new business goals by developing and leading strategic initiatives:
    • Drive adoption of Salesforce for effective pipeline management and leverage to provide sales intelligence including prospect-to-client lifecycle trends, sales funnel analytics, etc.
    • Direct Market Analyst t compile, analyze, and report the data necessary to drive sales strategies
    • Review all new opportunities and use firm resources to provide points of connectivity and/or research that may enhance the prospecting process
    • Centrally analyze existing client relationships to determine cross-sell opportunities and coordinate pursuit of such
    • Collaborate with the marketing team and practice/market leaders to develop key collateral for every stage of the prospecting lifecycle for each practice area
    • Develop individualized new business development plans with each client-facing partner/team
  • Sales Support: Manage all leadership/board member sourced opportunities:
    • Manage pipeline and ensure all applicable data is captured in Salesforce
    • Participate in prospective client meetings and coordinate associated actionable items including presentations and proposal development
  • Strategic Partnerships: Facilitate the successful implementation of new strategic partnerships
    • Define project plan, outlining roles and responsibilities, key deliverables, target dates, decision-making control and escalation plan
    • Ensure success criteria is clearly defined, measurable and communicated upfront to align stakeholders
    • Provide program reporting to leadership, communicating status and escalating any issues
    • Develop and grow strong collaborative relationships with all stakeholders – both internal and external – serving as the firm’s main point-of-contact for managing referrals, solving issues, communicating needs and creating synergy
    • Champion and manage new projects and initiatives to create stronger partnerships
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop key collateral to support business needs
    • Lead event planning coordinating across stakeholders and vendors

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile – “Our Casting Call!”

  • 5+ years’ experience as a sales representative or sales manager with proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets – experience in financial services, professional services, or general consulting is preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully managing strategic partnerships is preferred
  • Tenacious go-getter with a positive attitude and engaging personality who excels at motivating others
  • Superior critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze hard data and metrics in support of recommendations and to drive actions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with great attention-to-detail and the ability to consolidate data into deliverables that are concise and persuasive
  • Proficient user of Salesforce and research/lead generation tools
  • Team player who leaves their ego at the door and has a growth mindset, welcoming feedback with the goal of continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree required with major in business or finance preferred
