Job Description

Chicago Children's House is an early childhood center located in River North. We are committed to providing excellent customer service within a childcare setting, and strive to provide a home-like atmosphere.We are looking to add a qualified and talented Director to join our team of passionate staff as we work together to build strong relations with children and families.Under the guidance of owners, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the center, staying true to the centers vision and oversee all day-to-day operations and management of the center. We are looking for someone who is professional, educated, flexible, goal oriented and works and communicates well with a team.Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education or Child Development and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool
  • Management/leadership experience
  • A combination of infant, toddler or preschool teaching experience
  • Strong leadership, supervisory and customer service skills and ability to create/maintain partnerships with families and staff
  • Ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively
  • Computer literacy
  • Must meet state educational and licensing requirements for director
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills required


  • The Director will be responsible for staffing, as well as managing and directing a team of educators, as well as cultivating a collaborative atmosphere between all staff.
  • Effectively operates and manages all aspects of a child care school, focusing on leading and managing the staff, educating and nurturing the children, ensuring compliance to all state requirements.
  • The Director will mentor and guide faculty along the journey of professional growth.
  • Record-keeping, both state and center requirements (eg, children's files, Staff files)
