Job Description

Uptima Business Bootcamp is an innovative member-owned business accelerator dedicated to providing entrepreneurs with greater access to hands-on education, resources and community to create thriving businesses. Uptima’s programs encourage entrepreneurs to think holistically about their goals, their business, and its impact on them and their community. Uptima is very different from other business accelerators and entrepreneurship programs – as a cooperative, entrepreneurs have an opportunity to become member-owners of the accelerator. This means they are part of a real community that shares in the accelerator’s profits and has a say in how the accelerator is run.  

Position Description

Uptima seeks a Marketing & Outreach Coordinator who shares our vision, values and commitment to creating a thriving ecosystem of businesses and business leaders in the Bay Area. At Uptima, you will perform within an innovative culture that’s focused on transformational change in how we do business. You will leverage your skills across our marketing and outreach activities to increase our community impact and help grow our business. 

This position reports to the Co-Founder & President and will work out of our offices in Oakland and San Francisco. The position will start out as a twenty (20) hour a week commitment with the opportunity to increase hours and move into a full-time position as we continue to expand.


  • Support the creation, development and implementation of marketing and outreach plans and projects
  • Work with web development team to keep company websites updated
  • Work with graphic designer to create new and update existing digital and print marketing collateral
  • Develop social media strategy, compose and post daily to social media sites and target social media advertising
  • Produce newsletters to the company’s email list
  • Compose testimonials of the entrepreneurs and mentors in our programs
  • Assist with planning and production of digital and audio media promoting our programs and showcasing the successes of entrepreneurs who have completed our programs
  • Track analytics around website and social media performance · 
  • Coordinate sponsored events to market our programs (e.g., information sessions, workshops, webinars)
  • Attend and promote our programs through tabling at conferences and other events
  • Support other marketing projects as needed


  • Strong desire to contribute to a business with positive community impact
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Communications, Marketing or Business
  • At least two (2) years of marketing or communications experience
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing strategies and advertising
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, collaboration and service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized, strong project management skills and keen attention to detail
  • Experience with a small business or startup organization is a plus
