Greetings, Illinois beer enthusiasts and professionals -- Better Beer Society has expanded to Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area.
Founded in 2011, we are a Minneapolis-based organization dedicated to improving quality standards for beer through education. We help our partners achieve best practices in beer sales and service through our professional certification course and range of expert services...and we are thrilled to be here!
Better Beer Society is currently seeking a few qualified candidates in the Chicagoland area to help represent us, beginning with our Brewery Ambassador program. We have immediate work available.
Our Brewery Ambassador Program consists of a highly selective group of beer enthusiasts offering representative support to our brewery and distribution partners with off-premise samplings, beer festivals, beer dinners and private events. Our Brewery Ambassadors are experienced in selling beer and are extremely knowledgeable in beer styles, history, beer & food pairings, as well as have a great understanding and knowledge of the breweries they represent.
To guarantee this level of knowledge and quality, we offer a unique certification program aimed at developing well-rounded beer professionals. In addition, we offer monthly training for each of our BA's focusing on areas including palate development, off-flavor and sensory, food pairing, styles and history, and much more. In addition, we work very closely with our brewery partners to ensure that we are acting as a true extension of their brewery. If you meet the following criteria, we'd love to arrange for a phone interview (please have beer in hand) and let's chat. We'd love to meet you and hear why you'd make a good fit.

We’re an best practices organization dedicated to the growth and awareness of beer through education, helping you achieve best practices in beer sales and service through our professional certification course and range of expert services.
For those looking for a more detailed description, there are many different aspects to the Better Beer Society, all of which fall under 3 main categories:
“Education. Dedication. Celebration.”
– We consult directly with retailers (bars, restaurants, taprooms), helping them to achieve best practices through proper beer service. In order to facilitate these services, all instructors of the Better Beer Society have years of industry experience and are Certified Cicerones®, Beer Judge Certification Program judges, or both. These instructors are well versed in beer styles, history, service, and food pairings.
In addition to consulting and training, we begin at the ground level by designing and installing efficient draft systems, and ensuring they are properly maintained, in accordance with Brewers Association guidelines, and through our expert draft maintenance program. We offer QA/QC programming for Brewers Guilds and other trade organizations. We educate consumers and retailers through our Brand Advocate program and lend sales support to our supplier friends in a highly competitive market. We offer this and much more. Our mission is dedicated to beer education and elevating quality standards throughout the industry.
All work and no play? Yeah, right. From time to time, Better Beer Society offers our own creative and unique events set up for the beer community, always centering around the theme of beer education. So, whether it’s one of our series of Blind Tasting events, educational beer dinners, or through our Better Beer Society University, you can be certain that the events will be fun, fresh, and always educational, because we believe that “An Educated Beer Drinker, is a Better Beer Drinker”.
