BAY-Peace: Better Alternatives for Youth supports and empowers Oakland youth to transform militarism and other forms of violence through youth organizing and artistic resistance.
Our youth leadership development program consists of five components: Healing and Transformation, Political Education, Youth Organizing, Social Justice Vocational Development & Liberation Arts.

Program Coordinator Responsibilities:
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a 2 or 4-year degree with relevant experience, and be able to provide recent TB, DOJ clearance, a driver’s license and clean driving record. Oakland residency and Spanish fluency is a big plus.
We welcome applicants with personal experiences that many of our youth share:
—Having a strong connection to the Oakland community, especially experience within OUSD
—Being targeted/profiled based on race, gender, sexual orientation/identity, documentation status, etc.
—Experiencing interpersonal and/or structural violence including poverty, racism, incarceration, criminalization, police violence, and/or militarism.
The Program Coordinator Position is 20-30 hrs per week, at $20-25/hour.
Salary and benefits negotiable, based on experience.
