  McKay Brothers, LLC, a profitable and rapidly growing financial tech company, seeks a Corporate Paralegal to work at the Company’s Oakland US headquarters.   

  The ideal candidate is a self-starter comfortable working in a highly collaborative, nontraditional, open office environment and must have a strong interest in learning about and understanding McKay’s business.  Candidates must have excellent problem solving, organizational and communication skills, with emphasis on attention to detail. We are interested in a professional who has had responsibility for completion of entire tasks and who thrives when owning a project from commencement to completion and enjoys working as part of a team. Any candidate must take seriously and understand the importance of confidentiality.  A smart hard working candidate that has a great sense of humor, likes lawyers and has no fear of chaos will succeed here.   

  You will report to the Company’s Senior Corporate Counsel, but will work with all business departments.  Your major job responsibilities will include contract management, including inputting contracts into and updating the Company’s internal databases, tracking contract terms, drafting and negotiating certain contract amendments and assignments, drafting termination and option letters, and updating contract templates. You will also conduct directed legal and compliance research. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining corporate records, obtaining Good Standing certificates and State qualifications for new corporate entities. You will be expected to provide an outstanding level of customer service while always protecting McKay and client confidential information.  

  Minimum requirements include:     

  • BS or BA from a four-year university or college
  • Minimum five years working in a large law firm as a transactional paralegal. Preference for experience with real estate, intellectual property, or M&A.   
  • Adept with Excel and Microsoft Word and all of their functions including redlining
  • Must live in the San Francisco Bay Area  

  Preferred experience includes:  

  •  Database experience
  •  Paralegal certificate     

 Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This is an on-site full-time position with robust benefits including paid vacation, but without relocation reimbursement.
