Life Saving Images is a specialist at improving the current low breast cancer screening rates at large employers, by solving the main issues preventing more effective early detection.
Current annual breast cancer screening rates at many companies are low, at 40-60%. With many women therefore unscreened, late stage breast cancer is higher than it should be. The main reason given for not getting screened is the lack of time and the current hassle of getting time off work, taking 2-3 hours to drive to a facility, park, and wait for a mammogram.
For women with dense breasts, the problem is even more complicated as the screening is two or three step process involving mammography, then a letter in 5-7 days than a fight with providers and insurance companies to get approval for additional screening via ultrasound.
Our goals are to increase the mammography screening rate, increase the dense breast screening rate, and increase the cancer detection rate, and reduce the average breast cancer tumor size significantly. All women benefit from our advanced screening. Women who do not have breast cancer gain tremendous peace of mind knowing they have been screened with two advanced modalities.
For women for which we detect breast cancer, with significantly higher resolution and higher sensitivity we often save their lives through early detection. Early detection means easier treatment and much higher survival rates. Detecting breast cancer early is a relief for most women, as discovery 2-4 years later without screening would be a very different scenario.
