It is an honor to serve our community as the head of school, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Barnhart's rich tradition of providing families with a high-quality, independent school education in the greater Pasadena-Arcadia area. When I first stepped onto Barnhart’s campus in the fall of 1997 as a prospective parent, I knew this was a special place and that I wanted to be a part of it. Barnhart is a place where children and their families matter. We work together in partnership to ensure our students thrive - academically and social-emotionally. Although my own children have long since graduated from Barnhart, and are now post-college adults, I know that they carry with them a spirit of caring and compassion for others that is rooted in our program here.
We believe that Barnhart is a wonderful place for students to learn and grow, as we provide a strong academic program that is balanced with rich opportunities for creative expression. Within our program, Barnhart students flourish academically, as we have seen through their successes in speech and debate tournaments, math competitions, as well as participation in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth programs. However, they really shine when you have a chance to speak with them directly. They are caring, kind, curious learners who enjoy the academic challenges in the classrooms as much as the athletic challenges on the courts and fields. Our students are truly difference-makers in our world!
Finding the right-fit school for your child and family is an important decision, and we appreciate the opportunity to share Barnhart School with you. As you discover more about us, we hope you will feel and see one of our stand-out attributes: we are truly a community-oriented place. As we were founded by parents who valued an academically challenging program within a nurturing environment, we continue to honor those founding principles in a 21st century learning community.
Again, thank you for considering Barnhart School, and we look forward to partnering with you in your child's educational journey.
