New York’s Barrow Street, a peaceful meandering stretch in the city’s West Village neighborhood shaded by slender trees and lined with ivy-draped red-brick townhouses, has a transporting quality. And so too does Barrow, the salon that celebrated stylist Michelle Snyder named with that very street in mind. Tucked away on San Francisco’s Sutter Street, the airy, light-drenched space is the picture of modern glamour with its elegant, monochromatic palette and reception area that doubles as a library, stacked with beautiful tomes perfect for lingering over with a cup of made-to-order coffee, or glass of wine or champagne. The impeccably-trained stylists and colorists on staff use products by the cult favorite Oribe, Bumble and Bumble, and Wella Color lines. Owner Snyder, a San Francisco native herself, is particularly excited that Barrow, her very first solo salon venture, is in the city she now, once again, calls home.
