Randy Musterer, better known to sushi fans by his alias Sushi Randy, is embarking on a venture of foodie proportions. Drawing on American style sushi and Asian fusion influences, Sushi [Confidential] offers a unique dining experience through innovation, education and artistry.
For the past six years, Sushi Randy, as he is known in the business, has changed the way the Bay Area enjoys sushi. When Sushi Confidential opened in downtown Campbell 2012, Randy Musterer brought his personal flair to this edible art form. By focusing on a fun, engaging atmosphere along with daring taste combinations, Randy has brought sushi to the public for a truly unique dining experience. Now with a second location in downtown San Jose, Sushi Confidential is reaching even more Bay Area sushi lovers.
Randy taught himself how to make sushi as a college student, then trained with first a Korean sushi chef, then a Japanese chef in the evenings, all while working as a Cancer Research Scientist. Here he gained a reputation not only for fabulous sushi, but conversation and education along with the great food. He began catering out of his home each weekend at underground sushi parties, serving his original taste creations to 30 people at a time Thursdays through Saturdays, swearing these friends to secrecy. It was sushi, confidential.
By combining his outgoing personality and passion for educating others with the artistry of sushi making, Randy has been able to channel his vision for Sushi Confidential into an award winning restaurant, with catering, corporate and sushi-making classes available for those who want to go further in their sushi adventures.
