Since it’s opening in 1917, Hickory Hills Golf Course is remarkably different in character other courses in the Chicagoland Area. You have the sense it was built as much as it was discovered. As the glaciers acting as giant bulldozers moved south, it covered most of the Continental US. As the glaciers moved, it left behind leveled hills and filled in valleys. When a glacier stopped it’s advance, the material it took created beautiful hilly areas called moraines. Hickory Hills Country Club, with rippling fairways, remain just as they were found and natural bunkers line the landscape as they have for centuries. The Championship 18- and 9-Hole courses emerge from shore pines to spectacular rolling hills. When the wind blows, precise approach shots are a necessity. Hickory Hills Country Club is short enough to give you hope, but rugged enough to test every facet of your game.
