While building the first version of our product, co-founder Joseph Flesh interviewed 100 social workers and case managers to understand how they were connecting people with the services they needed: everything from food pantries to substance abuse treatment, from housing to park district programs.
Most social workers pointed at a three-ring binder, full of paper, sitting on their desk. That was how they kept track of all the services available to their clients.
One binder in particular stood out. It was completely disorganized, coffee-stained, and overstuffed with paper. And it was purple. Joseph realized that this purple binder was what his then-nascent organization was going to replace.
Since then, Purple Binder has grown to cover millions of lives. Our technology is used by social workers, case managers, and providers in health plans, clinics and hospitals, and community agencies.
