The Providence Foundation of San Francisco (Foundation) is a non-profit in the Bayview Hunters Point area that offers education, training, housing, nutrition, and welfare programs for children, families, seniors, and the homeless in the community. The foundation also offers a Youth Leadership Development Program (YLDP).Camps:
Providence runs a five-week summer day camp that features academic and enrichment classes, plus field trips on Fridays. Activities include: self-defense, arts and crafts, photography, computer literacy, gymnastics, math, money management, language arts, and music. Providence runs a free afterschool program that provides a safe environment for homework tutorial and various other skill-building activities for youth ages 6 to 18. Activities include: homework help, workshops, computer literacy, science, art, language arts, music, and open gymnasium. The program runs Mondays through Fridays from 3pm–6pm during the school year. Nutritional snacks are served daily.
